Re: Transmission gave up today...

Last year a installed a new GM crate engine (ZZ6), Vintage Air, a little paint work, new wheels, tires and shocks. Some one asked about the transmission I said its great no need to touch it. Fast forward 1 year the transmission goes bad. Well now I can definitely can say everything is rebuilt or new. But it's still and old truck and they don't make quality parts any longer. So it more or less is me saying what's next. Lol

At least you don’t have to worry about your low tire sensor batteries needing replacement

Re: Transmission gave up today...

*Update* Transmission is rebuilt and the shop said the front yoke on the drive shaft is worn and there Is a "crack" around where the rear u-joint mounts. So I dropped the shaft off Tuesday to be fixed and should pick it up monday. Just money right?

Right! Parts wear with age.

Re: Transmission gave up today...

Happy to say I picked up the truck this morning. After a test drive they put it on the lift checked for leaks and I headed home (20+miles) night and day difference in shifting. I can't say enough about how great this shop ( Fryar's Transmission service in Hot Springs Ar.)was to work with. They told me if at any point if I wasn't happy with it bring it back and they'd make it right. 12,000 Miles/1 year warranty doesn't hurt either.

Very good Idea. I just ordered some from Home Depot. $9.70 each minus my 10% veteran discount.
