help please

I'm trying to figure out my back up lights. I have the 2 light green wires that goes to the reverse lights. So I researched it spoke to a few people and I was informed that these wires go to a neutral safety switch. Well I purchased one and it does not seem to meet the application to my after market steering column. Unless it can be fabricated to go on the very end some how like the picture below. I also read that sometimes this switch is connected to the transmission linkage. Can someone educated me?

Could this possibly go down at the very end and connected by one of these screws? Hard for me to believe that, but I have limited options?

That switch is going to mount to the shaft of the column but on the interior side . The two terminals that are parallel to each other are for neutral safety switch . The two angled terminals are for the reverse lights . These are the terminals I was referring to in my PM.

It won't work Chris, my steering column is after market and has no opening for that switch to be installed. Evidently this was intended to keep it with a clean look and to give me a headache! lol! Fortunately I found an alternative switch that goes on the tranny linkage. Pretty reasonable and I needed to order some other things anyway so... It worked out. At least I know where those wires go now! Which gets me closer thanks to you!

Thanks to my neighbor Eric! We got my braided stsinless door jam wire looms installed. It was way more complicated than we thought. Had to take the doors off and ran into an inner piece of sheet metal in the door that made the drilling a tad difficult! Ready for my electric locks for my alarm now!

Also reinstalled my gas tank and my filler cap ready to install my fuel line. This truck had stressed me out. I think I will take Eric's advice a take a break from it for s few days. It hasn't been fun in awhile. Maybe the break will rejuvenate me?

I ordered one of those lokar switches too. I'm using mine for a neutral safety switch. Have you installed yours yet? They look like a good product for the money.

Thanx! Lol! Honestly, my iPhone won't let me do multiple pics on one post so I have to post a picture at a time. Plus I'm a visual hands on guy. I take pictures for the guys who maybe non-mechanical. A picture is worth a thousand words!

Here's some pics for you. I've got the mechanical sorted on the neutral safety switch.
My installation may be different than yours. I'm using a CPP shift linkage (about the same as Lokar or Kugel). The Lokar neutral safety is designed to work with stock brackets but can be made to work. Hopefully the pics are explanatory. Instead of using the 2 tab bracket for starting in Park and Neutral I'm using the single tab just to keep it simple. The truck is going to be for my wife to drive. I can't see any reason why she'd need to start it in neutral.

I'll probably do the wiring in the next day or two but it looks simple. You just need to run the purple wire #919 to either of the lokar switch terminals and then run a wire from the other terminal to the start terminal on your starter.

Perfect! I'm going to use mine for the back up lights. I guess it's only works for either or and not have both neutral saftey and back up light capabilities, but that's really the only reason I need it for! Thanks for the pictures bro!

I attempted to purchase the RIFD Push Button Start since December 15 from MattBowties from the forum. After several delays and NO tracking number and being told different things concerning my order. I canceled it. I took it as a sign, decided to just go with the regular turn key application. I know several guys will be happy! Lol! But for me I was stoked about where I was going with my vision and design. Never the less. Cheaper user friendly almost a month wasted researching and talking back and forth with these guys about it before I bought it. The good thing is, it's all plug and play now. No extensive wiring to be done. Install the ignition and plug it in. Just gotta buy all of the components.

Stopped wiring for a sec to install my "Lokar" brake pad pedal and my throttle pedal. Hopefully final wiring will take place this weekend and column install as well! Final cuts and soldering with bulbs on the way. Hopefully I can buy my battery next Friday. Thinking of getting a Red Top Optima!

Wiring is pretty much done in the engine bay the headlights and park/Signals still need to run a few more grounds for the lights and install the distributor and connect those ends and the spark plug wires. Shoot I need to put the spark plugs in! Never ending! Sigh...
