Re: GM Semis
Always wondered why they put the Van on "backwards"?
But I guess it could be that they didn't like how the Headlights would have shined through the Cab-Over in the night picture ??

Heres a GMC I drive by from time to time. I think its a 1958 but not positive. I wonder what engine it might have?

Re: GM Semis
Probably has either a 4-71 or a 6-71 Detroit.

Re: GM Semis
I wish, I don't even know if it runs. I just pass by where its parked whenever I head to my moms. It could probably be bought, the guy was trying to sell it a couple years ago.

Re: GM Semis
its so sad that most of those cars and trucks are no exist
i live in the netherlands and there was one carmanufacturer here called DAF that made cars in larger series , they basicly where the dutch volkswagen beetles the cars had a variomatic transmission and could run backwards as fast as forward a lot later somewhere in the 70's there was a populair tv-show that used a lot of these cars in reverse demolition derbies as they ran the fastest and this show just about wiped out all of those cars still left in existance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoh8i0jfpTo

Re: GM Semis
It must be difficult for those drivers to adjust to driving from the left side of the vehicle
I bet there are a lot of neck injuries...even without a wreck!! I don't think I have shown this one here yet:

Re: GM Semis
Not sure if mine counts, but during my last deployment, my wife found a 1954 Chevy 6400 with a flatbed. I guess the guy wanted about 1500, but I stole it for 800 and it runs really good. Rebuilding my shop when I get back, then this and my 67 will be getting some attention. Looking for some inspiration. Was used as a local water truck, so the flatbed was covered in sheetmetal, and it's rusted to hell...the body needs a little work, but overall, the truck is solid.
Here it is...needs a lot of work, but fun truck to drive Here it is next to my 67 k10...and the shop that's getting rebuilt My original plan was t restore it and go with a 2 tone forest green and black look re-do all the chrome bumpers and such, totally restore (actually rebuild) flatbed, to wood and use it as a weekender or hay hauler. add a removable 5th wheel hitch for heavy trailer hauling comments suggestions welcome.

Re: GM Semis
thats is a beautiful truck , would be fun if you could find some container/camperunit for it that fit on the flatbed and take it on a trip , even though i guess sitting in there for longer trips isnt exactly good for youre back
