Seems like every forum that uses VB has been hacked in the last six months or so. Even VW Vortex / car lounge.

I've seen it mentioned in the LSx swap forum that the LS Drop Member requires an F body oil pan. True? This would be for a squarebody C30.

Yes, we recommend the F-Body oil pan from 1998-2002. It is really shallow in the front and creates the most room at the rack.

There is also a GM muscle car pan that guys are using as well. Let me dig up some part numbers and post it up tomorrow.

Here's one aired it with some big rollers. Ride height would be similar to where your truck sits in the avatar pic. I will see if I can't dig up some more tomorrow.

Gotcha. What happens if I keep the 454, or swap an 8.1 Vortec Dirty Larry style - do those require a different (or mods to the stock) pan as well?

We haven't built a coil-over version for the 55-59 yet. However, due to the modularity of our components it will be near identical to the pics below. The only real difference in the kit is the design of the tie-in sections that meet up with the factory frame rails.

Re: Porterbuilt Dropmember

I have decided to call my truck DV8ED. Just because I have changed the details of my build so many times. I started with a running 69 Chevy, then bought a frame and a 68 GMC cab. Both of those reside in the woods now and I have decided to go with my new find... 1967 small window with 60,000 original miles. I now see why the waiting time was 10 weeks. Sheesh you're popular Nate! I should only have about 6 weeks left. Can't wait to get to the shop to pick up my parts and see what the scientists at Porterbuilt are building.

You're going to make the pilgrimage to truck mecca to pick up your parts? That should be very cool, enjoy!
