Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion
Im not familiar with these extended looking beds you have, they look to have 6"+ added to the front. Was this a longhorn specific thing or what?
Edit: I just looked it up. Pretty cool stuff I never knew, GMC custom camper models had this too.

Yep, they are pretty cool. Some times it's hard to find a good box. I've seen 3 or 4 lately, which is odd.

That's funny right there. I don't care who you are. It's all good, I'm not looking to move any metal right now. Well, unless you need a regular long bed

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion
I raised mine to gain clearance on the front differential. These trucks have a lot of room from the hood to the valve covers.

Still no progress from the body man. Going on 6 weeks or more now. I did get my new to me rear slider from TKorinek, and my floor shift tilt column from SouthernParts. Thanks guys!

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion
If I had time and an open bay I would. Right now the 76 is in the big bay, a buddy's 88 cc is in the other bay, we have a 97 1 ton dodge coming in for a ton of work, and I have to pull apart a 96 F-350 within 2 weeks too. I've got plenty to do if the Longhorn doesn't get painted. I know if I don't stay on the guy's azz, it'll never get done. I am not paying him a dime until it's done either. The best way to look at it is, it's getting stored in a heated shop for free right now.

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion
If I get to a point where I'm caught up and he doesn't have it painted, I'll bring it home and do it myself. Hopefully he'll quit stalling and just do it.

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion
I didn't give him any money, but I did take my primer and paint to him for it. Plus, he wants me to do head gaskets on his 92 F-150 instead of $$$. I told him sure, when my truck gets done and out of your shop and in mine. Maybe I'll have to stall a while...................................

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion
Today I went over to cut my dash for my cd player before they actually paint it. Plus, I wanted to see what work actually got done on it. I was surprised. He did get most of the body work done, it just needs more sanding to get it in the booth. He was cussing the primer asking where the heck I got it, and WTF was it? I told him it was some PPG stuff and he really liked that because he is a Sikkens man. He said he still has to mess with the door alignment some more, but it is looking better to me.
Here's the dash before: With billet radio plate on: Hole cut and plate installed. I know, I know. I ruined a perfectly good A/C dash. I could care less too. I want my radio in the dash, not under the seat or in the glove box, and I don't want to spend big money for a retro'd knob radio. But that's just me.

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion
im not a fan of cut dashes because some look like hack jobs, but it looks really good with the billet plate, very clean.
