Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
That's a nice looking truck. The clip that is on it if it has single headlights, it's an 81-82 clip.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
The model says thanks JohnC. and yea there alot of carpet in there. My cousin built the truck when he was teenager and went alil crazy with it. Soon be be removed.
Scootin 81 thanks that what i was thinking too. been looking for the correct head light bucket for few months now. Everyone seems to break the drivers side for some reason.

here is a picture of what grill me and my dad could piece together with what time I had at home. I think all three peices might be from a diffrent year lol. Oh i forgot to mention that I got this truck from my cousin in July when I was home on R&R so didnt get to do alot to it.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
Ok, I can help with the headlight buckets. I have both right and left ones from my 81 Chevy when I replaced them with new ones. There's nothing broken on them, just they've been spray bombed with black paint and only need cleanup and a repaint.
The bucket of the pass. side is from a 81-82 GMC with single lights while the drivers side one is the correct 81-82 Chevy with single lights bucket. Your grille appears to be 83-87 and appears to be upside down. Here's what it should look like with all stock 81-82 parts.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
The grille area does seem to be pieced together from different trucks. The single headlight setup is a custom deluxe setup. Could be up to 84. I think the 85-87 used different headlight trim for the Custom Deluxe. The grill is from a 83-84, and does appear to be upside down, or the signal lights have been moved to the top. All of this stuff is easily fixed once you decide on the grill setup you like the best. However the rest of the clip is a 81-87 style.
Looking forward to see your progress when you return home! |

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
John, mine is the next step up from a Custom Deluxe. A Scottsdale and it has the single headlights. It's not the only one I've seen either.
