I'm not sure how many guys here are in Fla. But just wanted to let you all know I'll be taking the Twisted6. to the Lakeland drag strip Oct 20th.

I am hoping a buddy of mine will get some video of it for me. I am taking my
Cam with me. I am also?? going to try and figure out a way to mount it inside for some video. But at the vary least video of it on the track.The is set-up for 1/4 and this is only a 1/8mi. track so are figuring a mid to high 9 pass. which if it was a 1/4mi track should be mid to maybe low 14's on a 10-1 motor mild cam.
But anyway I'll post it on my site with the Other Vids I have of it.

I didn't know you were on this forum. I usually hang out in the '67-'72 universe. Just wanted to say "Hey" and thanks.
You helped me a with lot of advice when I was building up my 292 L6 @ .030-over, Badger pistons, Crane 260H cam, 1.87? intake valves, Rhoades lifters, Offy intake, Clifford headers, and [after the 390 Holley gave up] an Edelbrock AFB-clone 1404 500 CFM. This in a '68 C/10 Stepside, 292 L6, SM465, 12-Bolt 3.73 rear w/Eaton posi. I went to Pertronix Ignitor II a couple of years ago and it's great. It ain't clean or too pretty; it's still a daily driver work truck.

Nice NEWFISHER, Beautifle engine, what kind of rig is it in? Judging by the pic taken from the right of the engine bay, I'm assuming an old tear-drop hood style late '40's to early 50's Chevy.

My 65 SWB has JACSB in it and I couldn't help posting the burb motor over on this thread. I'm on the 60-66 side more now struggling through the resurrection of the 65

Here's my 292, under maintenance for the day. Had to replace the intake/exhaust manifold gasket. Still has the factory "GM Alpine Green" or "Detroit Engine Green" faded on the valve cover.

Ain't that the truth. I just wish I had the garage we had before we moved to our new house back in Michigan. Had a shop we restored 3 tractors in that had a helluva woodstove (it'd be -20 outside in the evening and you'd be sweating in the shop in a t-shirt!) and a workbench, plus a manual tire changer for the hay wagon wheels and whatever tires needed R&R.

Well T.J., Right now there's about 81,000 and some odd more miles. I want to say theres about 500 unaccounted miles since I've owned it and the previous owners driving due to a faulty speedo cable. I know its all original by the front cover of the shop manual and inside pages have all the mileage written down from all the tire rotations and oil changes up until the original owner sold it. Only work done to it was the head had the guides re-knurled in the late 70's.

Man! It ain't even broke-in yet! You still got 200,000 miles left! LOL! I've got 140,000 on mine and it had it's first oil change after 18 years of sitting! It's winning for a new set of valves springs I think.

Naw, Doesn't seem like it but she's actin like she needs a tune up. She hasn't been used like it should've been is why. However, she'll be used and abused when I get back to it.

Mine needs an overhaul, and it still does 4500 rpm! Good ol farm truck!

i still can't get comfortable with that rpm on mine even though its running great since i replaced the bad piston

Yeah I know how ya feel! For me I'm just waiting for the oil pan to fly off while I'm driving it!!!! But, with the flowmasters on it; it sounds awesome at the 3,000-4,500 rpms.
