Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Thanks. I read your dually build thread from beginning to end. Even though I'm leaning toward a 6/8 static drop, I may go ahead and modify the bed and install a proper step notch. The inherent weakness of the C-notch bothers me

Thanks. I get flack about it because "they've been doin' it for years" but that still doesn't mean its safe.

I was building my 64's set-up based off of the bolt-in c-notch for the dually when I questioned just how strong things were. I was very surprised w/the decrease of strength. Its easy enough to augument bolt-in notches but it impacts the sheet-metal directly above which I guess is more work than most want to tackle.

You should start a build thread for your project when you get the chance.

Mine is rated for a little more than one ton. Does it still count?

Currently looking for an Action Line truck, specifically 1969-1970, in very good condition. Longbed only, step or fleetside, or flatbed if C30. Must be unmolested (not modded).

Thanks, but I didn't build it. I wish I could say I did.
It was built by a guy named Mike Powell. He does great work.
On his website, if you click on the "SOLD" link, mine is the "Ex-Ryder" truck.

I like the steelies on in, but Mike showed me a pic of one just like mine with a set of aluminums and I'm really kinda jazzed about that look, now.

Let's see some more! Been a while since this thread has been active. I've started looking for another and having withdrawals from not seeing any.

Re: Let's see some 73-87 1 Ton Dually Pictures!

Posted these in another thread last week.

Here is my 85 C30 that I've been building for a little over 2 years. Currently in winter mode as I break the motor in.

*Yes it has a hood on it, I was waiting on a backordered release cable that finally came in.
