Re: Our '66 Short Fleet Build
That would make a cool custom Ice Cream Truck. Something like this one. But more hot rod type not low rider.

Re: Our '66 Short Fleet Build
I called Zero Rust today. They won't even sell to me because I live in California. He told me it is like Por-15 and is chip resistant, and can be painted on with a brush. You must prepare it correctly, and it needs 2 coats. I tried to order it through the web site, and it went through. The web site said nothing about California not being able to order it. I paid through Pay Pal. We'll see what happens???

![]() On the California regulations thing, I have the same problem with painting the inside of my boat every year. It’s a primer that "breathes", loves salt water, is tough as nails, gasses out like you wouldn’t believe and, of course - actually works. When I order this stuff on the web I have it sent to a friend's house in Phoenix and they just UPS (ground) it to me. An extra few days, but worth it - as the California approved version of this product is not worth the value of the can it comes in. Just say’in. Mac. ![]()

Hey Joe, great build glad to see you are coming along quite well on your truck. Its real neat to see that your wife and family are behind you on this. I've waited a long time to be able to build my truck and my wife is very understanding but she is going to leave it all to me. I never have been able to see the cab in Noble you saw but one day soon I hope, I did go and look at the cab I have been wanting for about 6-7 years now, (the one I was telling you about bbg and factory air), it has a long bed and excellent tailgate with cab and doors probably will need some floor work and maybe rockers but other than that its great with great glass will possibly buy it real soon ($300). I picked up a couple of good doors and front bed panel at Shawnee swap meet, the doors have been worked already and don't need much work. I wanted to let you know that I visited the Topps Powder Coating shop in Moore and talked to the owner and he told me he could do a bare frame for around $350 and I ask him about other components like "A" frames and crossmembers and tranny crossmember and he said $150. He has the capacity to do something I think he said up to 80' long. I was very impressed and the quality of some work I saw was real good. I didn't know if you were set on the place in Edmond or not just letting you know of a closer place. SEE YA SOON

Re: Our '66 Short Fleet Build
couple more shots of the welded nuts
these 3 shots show the 2 holes on each side that need to be drilled..... I marked the holes so I can drill them later here is the el-cheepo welder i borrowed from work

Re: Our '66 Short Fleet Build
made patches and welded the notches that were cut out for the radiator
the metal i used is a bit thicker, but it will look good after some grinding. I'm going to weld the bottom side when I flip the frame over also started welding up some unused holes
