Re: How about some pics of 69-72 Blazers and Jimmys.
Hey y'all! I posted on the welcome forum, but thought I'd post here too if it's ok.
I'm Ron and I'm from just north of Ft. Worth, Texas. I've always wanted a 1st gen Blazer, in particular a 1969 since that's what year I was born, but when I saw the 1st gen Jimmy I fell in love with the quad headlights. I finally bought a 1970 Jimmy this past April from a fella in Pittsburgh. It's got a lot of rust issues, but I don't think I got robbed. Since I got my dream truck, I've been searching for anything I can find on 1st gen Blazers & Jimmys and found this site. I'm looking forward to getting tips and finding sheetmetal that won't break the bank. |

Re: How about some pics of 69-72 Blazers and Jimmys.
Finally got my 15 x 8 steel wheels powder coated and some new shoes for Ol' Blue. Does anyone have any idea what the old stock 16 x 6 steel wheels are worth or where I could sell them on this site? I also have the dog dish hub caps too. thanks, Dave

Re: How about some pics of 69-72 Blazers and Jimmys.
Here is my '72 currently on a transport to me. Comes with a corvette 350/300 hp engine. Not sure if I want the 33" x 12" tires, I really like the P285/16 tires with chevy rally wheels better. Interior needs work though.

Hey Asolde, I like your rally wheels. I'm not sure if I want 15" or 16" rims. The 15" are a lot cheaper.

Re: How about some pics of 69-72 Blazers and Jimmys.
My 72 I picked up this past July. Been focused on getting it road worthy (front shackles and bushings, drag link, spark plugs, alternator, battery, water pump, and carb). Finally got around to doing the upolstery on the front seats with new rear seat belts. On the list - swapping to a 72 grille and bumper, swapping wheels and tires, and getting a new soft top (or repairing the 42 year old dealer option Whitco I have).

Do you have pictures of your original soft top? I would love to see what one looks like.

Re: How about some pics of 69-72 Blazers and Jimmys.
It's a Parchment Vinyl Whitco (made in Colorado) that was offered as a Dealer Option in 72. This one came with the truck. Here's a pic from back in July when I put it on to get some shade in the summer sun.
Here's some additional pics of the Whitco tops. A thread about them: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=203852

Re: How about some pics of 69-72 Blazers and Jimmys.
New to the site after reading it for a while, but this is my 72 war wagon. I go t it about two months ago. She needs some tlc but I have replaced valve seals, put headers on, new valve cover gaskets, re-worked the brakes all the way around, and did the normal fluid and filter change so I could drive it. I have not got rid of the Holstein cow look yet but it is in the works. More pics to come, just have not had much time with the other projects my dad has lined up for me.
