My go to starter guy closed his shop in Yakima because his son wasn't capable of running it and he was way beyond retirement age himself. He even PM'd me on the Hamb asking if I knew of anyone who might be interested in buying the business. I had sent him a fair amount of business over the years by telling folks to contact him and ship their starter or generator him. Still I have to question why someone with a truck that nice would not fix the starter and have the truck in start, run and drive condition. I full and well understand the sick and tired of fooling with it thing. Plus I can understand the tired of putting money in it but for 200 or less it is a full asking price truck and without, one can expect low ball offers that are way low.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
There is a lesson in that add on the 57 GMC. first spend an hour and clean the junk out of it. Second show more and better photos of what actually might make it worth the asking price. There are guys on here who would be hooking up the trailer right now if they knew that that whole bed was in decent shape.
I'm guessing that pulling into his yard with your trailer and having what actual cash green money you actually are willing to spend buys it though.. I'd take a body guard or two though.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
To be honest, if I had the cash and a decent place to work on it, I'd seriously be thinking about going after that one.
I'm just amazed that so many people post adds for rigs for serous money that may actually be worth said money and don't take the time to clean the trash and junk out of the rig, don't take the time and effort to drag it out of the weeds into a clear uncluttered spot or pick up and move the clutter and junk out of the area the photo is taken and actually present the rig at it's best. 20 years ago I bought my 21 ft Sailboat on Ebay for 252.50 after one guy bid me up simply because the seller had posted three very poor quality photos of it in the Ebay add and had a rather poorly written add. The outboard motor was and still is worth more than I paid for the boat. The 27 ft tall aluminum mast was worth several hundred and still is. I could honestly sell the mast for more by it's self than I want for the boat. I'd have to liken some of these adds to going to a restaurant where the cook just slaps the food on the plate how ever it lands there rather than presenting the food on the plate.

The mother load of nice trucks in the Yakima Wa area
Yellow 57 Big window with what looks like fresh paint. A nice 64 Black stepside A 74 4x4 with a purple paint job and a 96 Duley crew cab that I'd kind of like to look at https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...93579008%22%7D

That GMC Surburban is 763 miles from me. A lot more than a 13 hour run with my current tow rig though.

48 cab that looks pretty decent near Soap Lake Wa.
If I had the extra cash laying around I'd be interested in this one to stick on my old frame. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...Anull%7D%22%7D

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
Pre sandblasted and neglected. We have a powder coating shop here that does a great job on sandblasting sheet metal and car bodies. There is usually one body on a Rotisserie waiting to be blasted for local shops.
At least you see what you get with that one. Not like the old days when they scuffed them with DA and laid two or three coats of primer on them before putting them up for sale with a lot of hidden issues under the primer.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
I'm thinking that 54 was a pretty nice truck about 25 years ago with stock fenders all the way around and no nonsense on it. If I dug out and went though my show photos from the 90's I think I have a photo or two of it. Poor thing sure fell into the wrong hands but outside of the hacked grill I'd say it can be fixed mainly by unbolting the trailer fenders and putting the correct fenders back on it. Truth be known he probably has all of the original fenders.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
Their whole concept has changed in the past few years since they tossed out all of the extra junk they had in the stores and turned into real parts houses that went after the trade from shops.
I've gotten a couple of things that the local store had to outsource and have shipped in and I had to pay shipping but they can usually get it from the warehouse and here they have trucks running from their local warehouse store to other stores several times a day.

With current price and availability of tires future burn outs may be inadvisable. fwiw Rumors of a rubber shortage keep popping up on the net.
