Re: f/s 78 1ton 4x4 3+3 in Indiana
Well, as soon as the weather breaks (it's supposed to rain till Tuesday) I am stripping this puppy out. I have Thursdays and Fridays off from work. So hopefully by next weekend I will be parting it out. As far as the cab and body goes I am only pulling the column and tach dash out of it and some trim for people needing it. I will pull the pedals and all linkages out with the transmission and transfer case and sell them as a package. The motor isn't stuck so I am going to pull the pan off of it and verify if it has a steel crank. If anyone needs the hydrovac booster speak up now. If anyone is close to me and needs parts I will cut the price in half if you help. I will keep the frame for toomanytoyz. BeaterC10 if you still need the floor parts they are yours for cheap.

Re: f/s 78 1ton 4x4 3+3 in Indiana
I took a week off to catch up on my clean up around the shop. Today it is 32and snowing, what a crock. I am finally working on ripping several trucks apart and making a list of the good parts from them to get rid of. This is the only 73 up the rest are 67-72's. Thanks for your patience with me.

Re: f/s 78 1ton 4x4 3+3 in Indiana
toomanytoyz is getting from the frame up and I am keeping the motor and dana 60. I would like 250 for the four speed and transfer case. 100 for the 14 bolt with posi but don't know what kind yet probably the gov loc. The truck had just over 100,000 miles on it.

Re: f/s 78 1ton 4x4 3+3 in Indiana
The truck is all stripped out and on its way to Rick's house. It fought us hard today and I received 13 stitches because of it. Just got home from the hospital about a half hour ago. I smashed my left hand between the steering knuckle and axle tube of the dana 44 we were unloading to put under the truck to load it on the trailer. We were pretty sure it was broken but I lucked out and it's not. It actually happened a little after three today but I stuck it with Rick and his brother to get the job done. They are really a couple of great guys and really appreciated their help and company today. Which this is the case with most of you guys on the board. Jerry PM Rick on the tach and he is going to give you a great deal on it. Thanks Troy

Re: f/s 78 1ton 4x4 3+3 in Indiana
I have been lucky so far. I have only taken Ibuprofin three times since my little accident yeterday. I went to work on the railroad this morning and the only response I got was "Well I can tell it's summertime!" If that tells you anything about my being accident prone.

Re: f/s 78 1ton 4x4 3+3 in Indiana
Hey Guys I have a 73 3+3 I have been building for about 2 years with a multitude of new parts. This thing started as a 73 3+3 4x2 The cab is almost rust free just a little starting in the cab corners, rockers are solid. I bought a 81 3+3 4x4 frame and a 78 3/4 ton 4x4 for the axles The frame is rolling, sand blasted and painted, with all new bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, steering box and power steering pump. I have a rebuilt 400 small block and a 400 turbo with transfer case new stainless brake lines and many other parts to much to list. Would like to get $3000.00 out of it if anyoe is interested. I also still have the complete rolling 4x2 frame for $400.00 I am like Troy built to much work and not enough time to complete.
Thanks Roger |

Re: f/s 78 1ton 4x4 3+3 in Indiana
Since this Dana 60 has 4:10's with a trac loc I am putting it under my 68 4x4 to pull my car trailer. I still have my other with a 4:56 trac loc for my big truck. Wish you would have stepped up earlier with the info Roger

Re: f/s 78 1ton 4x4 3+3 in Indiana
Don't be surprised if I come up with another one. I am in the process of ordering rear wheel arches for the blue tub so I can put it on the other chassis shortly. So, start saving up your pennies.
