Re: Rear bag mounting pics please
I used the 7" version. They are a little bigger than the Slams, but not by much. I don't know how they would do up front- my truck is static front/bagged rear...

I forgot about this thread...
anyone else have more pics of bagged rides utilizing the stock trailing arm setup instead of the 4-link and wishbone setups we see more often? |

The Dominator 2600s are equivalent to the Slam RE7. Alot of people Use the slam RE7 on all 4 corners so you should be okay. I will be using Dominator 2600s on all four corners. My truck is at the shop right now... |

Re: Rear bag mounting pics please
the lower cups float, or you wouldn't be able to remove the bags later.....
well maybe you could through the hole in the spring pocket

Re: Rear bag mounting pics please
Mine float in the A arm as well. I actually cut 1" off the bottom cup and like it. I will be doing the rear airride install this spring, when I swap my GMC over to a Chevy frame.

Re: Rear bag mounting pics please
Thanx guys. I think I got everything figured out. Got the rear C-notched and bagged, done right this time, and the front all done. Just got to get the air managment system, $$$, then I can bolt all this stuff in place..

Re: Rear bag mounting pics please
I'd like to see a pic of how how your bags are mounted, how you are running the airline, and how big your notch is...
Sorry for the laundry list... LOL. I'm trying to decide on how wild or mild to do my brother's 62. I have it mocked up for a pretty mild job for now, but am contemplating more. |

Re: Rear bag mounting pics please
I posted a pic of the rear in post #47. I haven't run the lines yet, cause I don't have the funds for the air management system I want yet. I have a basic c-notch bolted in with air lift dominators (2600's). The rear diff hits the bed floor before the axle tube hits the c-notch bumpstop, have about 1" before it'll hit. So I will more then likely cut the bed floor out abit..

Re: Rear bag mounting pics please
no C-notch here, just some bags on my R2500 that look like they may have been original (or maybe not)...
I think it may be original because there are no springs, it is just leafs and bags... I do know they work well although they are manual fill, no automated air pump...

I guess I was specifically hoping to see mounting hardware and what not. I did see your other post. It looks like guys are just running a single bolt through the middle of the trailling arm, but I was confused on that because of the "I" shape of the beam. I'm going to play with it tonight and hopefully get these things in and done before Friday. |
