Re: NEW Tow Rig build

You should put a 5.9 Cummins in it or a 572BBC!

Re: NEW Tow Rig build

that thing is freaking awsome!!!!! same with the burb. question though, it turned out unreal believe me but did you ever think about keeping a flat bed and just shortening the bed to fit the cab?? sure you would have to put something on there to tilt it or carry ramps to load it but if you didnt notch the frame would it had fit?? either way it turned out amazing props to ya man

Re: NEW Tow Rig build

I think instead of shortening the frame you could have just added a Suburban cabin in there behind the cab to take up all that space. Then you could haul the whole fam damily and then some.
I've seen a couple of those, love them but man is that far beyond my skillset! I guess I could probably do the cutting part, I've always been much better at disassembly than assembly. Thanks for the pictures along the way, made it look easy

Re: NEW Tow Rig build

At the school district I work at we have a tow truck built out of a old carpenter school bus.
It will tow a gm bus with ease, but throw a international diesel on the hook and it can be a hairy ride. i think it is a 83 model bus. I have to go get a pic of it, I just towed a bus to the shop with it yesterday. Note to self, take camera to work. Good Build and what a good looking rig.
