Re: The 9-5. The Daily Grind.
Step into my office,
It has an excellent view, The job can be fairly rewarding. I feel a little smile inside me when someone complains about working a 45 hour week. I enjoy working 60-70 hour weeks, its where the money is at.

Re: The 9-5. The Daily Grind.
I am a diesel tech at a coal mine. Here are some pics from a fun day two summers ago. Those are D11 cats and a delivery van.
Here is a poor picture of a loader that I work on. It has a diesel engine with a generator (alternator actually) ran by the engine. Has four electric wheel motors instead of a drive train with drive shafts. The tires are 12ft tall.

Re: The 9-5. The Daily Grind.
Good luck with that. I'm trying to get into PTA school at the moment. Ill be looking forward to those long days of school before clinicals. Its all worth it in the end though. Personally, once I can get in and go a year and a half, Ill be able to punch my ticket outa 12 hour days in a warehouse doing trained monkey work.

Re: The 9-5. The Daily Grind.
I'm a fireman. It's a damn beating. I don't recommend it as a career choice anymore.
People call 911 for so much stupid stuff nowadays it's hard to not go bezerk on them when you get there. In the last couple of shifts, a few noteworthy calls... -athletes foot -toothache -burned out light bulb in the house -garage door opener failed so they needed us to pull the rope and open the door manually -pipes busted from freezing weather -lots of dead batteries in smoke detectors so they call us to replace them That combined with the usual stuff like using the engine and hoses to clean bird poop off overpasses and standing by at bingo games in case some geezer gets sick makes it a morale killer.

I'm a certified elementary school teacher, but there aren't any jobs right now. As a result, I'm a student again, working on my masters degree in mathematics.

Hey Dave, where in Fl are you? What grade do you teach specifically?
I am an Elementary School sub teacher/paraprofessional, grades prek-5th. Im also a college student at NFCC working on an AA degree. I love teaching, hate being refered to as a "stand in baby sitter", dosen't happen that way with me. My favorite job, I am wife to my wonderful husband, Mom to my own 4 children, ages 4,21,23,24, 2 step kids, ages 11,16 and 3 goofy little grand kids ages 1,3,5.
