Some from a junkyard back in south GA. Luckily the owner doesn't crush old iron.... I will definitely be going there and seeing if I find anything of interest.

Re: Junkyard Picture Thread
A few BBW cabs. I know of someone looking for the fishhook moldings on the side of that green and white 60-61. There's the stainless windshield trim on it and a chrome rear molded bumper! Man would I like to see more of that truck. A/C?

Yea definitely, I wish I had found the green and white apache back ten years ago when I was first looking for these. It probably would be in a lot better shape than it is now. I have more pictures I can post of the yard but they aren't 60-66 pickups, but definitely more old iron. |

Re: Junk yard Picture Thread
Well the railroad cancelled again today, so I started getting Trailer fever and decided to go to Roblin's Garage. http://www.roblins.net/index2.html
Mr. Roblins a great guy with a stockpile of parts and knowledge. Not a lot of stuff but his barn is hard to walk through and he knows where most of the stuff is and what he's got. Don't put stuff on the seats! So you take the ashtray gauges and other crap but leave the Deluxe knobs behind These are those removable front tunnel sections that are handy for 66 C10 cabs with the fixed tunnels. You can bolt a low hump or high hump section to it. THOSE hoods, none were any good. Squirter on the blue hood! Ok so it wasn't last year they were brought into the yard! GMC Orgy

Re: Junk yard Picture Thread
I got a Deluxe seat cover off of one of his big trucks and used it as a pattern to make up a new covering for my 64 GMC that I had. He laughed that it was so dried out and that I still wanted to pay for it.

Re: Junk yard Picture Thread
Got my grill guard for the K10 and inline A/C parts from them when I was traveling through the great State of Texas. They let me walk the yard which I find re-centers me with the planet. All is good when you can inhale all that old truck odor.

Re: Junk yard Picture Thread
Leon's in Culpepper, VA. Loaded with old stuff. Best to go in fall or early Spring--place is loaded with overgrowth. Prices are ok--nothing cheap. Place is worth checking out just to look around if nothing else. 100 acres packed with old stuff only. Call ahead and get there early--he has weird hours. |
