OK, now for the engine pics: So what is it ? Offset engine mounts ?

So, whats the deal with this carb ?? What am I missing besides the obvious ? (kickdown linkage, correct fuel line ?) It is supposed to be run that way ?

Now, if this carb was to flood, and pour fuel down onto a hot exhaust...(!!)

Now...I really need to know what the deal is with this dist. !!

It has a funky, newer HEI style coil, mounted off to the side, with more ghetto wiring (tape, connectors, different guage wiring) Again, dejavu with the Chief...
-
-

-

-

-
This..FOR SURE..is gonna go:
-

-
Better shot of distributor....Any guess ?...(for tune up parts)
-

-

-
It's got a window washer, too:

It can even see out of its one eye:

Re: Just scored the replacement.....63 custom cab, bbw !!!

The fuel line is run around the front and not over. I'm guessing the carb is not stock. On my 292 I6 the motor mounts are offset. 250 is identical and as far as I know is a direct bolt in on 292 mounts. I'm going to guess it's a 250 seeing as how the truck is a 60-63. And yes, it sure looks like you got your work cut out for you on all the floor patching.

Re: Just scored the replacement.....63 custom cab, bbw !!!

Someone mentioned 63 was the first year for the 292 (??)

Anywho, yeap the floor is wasted...but I think I can handle it.

I'll be honest...I REALLY want to go body off on this thing...but its the wrong time to be thinking about that.

I'm just going to get it running good, do something with the wheels/tires, and upgrade the brakes.

Too bad I sold a 63 windshield a while back on CL...cause I need one now !

Re: Just scored the replacement.....63 custom cab, bbw !!!

HEI is a inexpensive distributor upgrade. They are apparently good to 6500 rpm. 78-87 Chevrolet car or truck. Old hot rodders trick put a head off a 194 which is closed chamber style head. It will up the stock compression. There's a bunch of things you can do to a six. The internals are the same as a small block.Pistons connecting rods etc. Quick check of the side inspection covers on the passenger side, 4" tall it's 194/230/250 if their 6" tall it's a 292.

That is how mine is, I thought it was stock, and yes mine is leaking some fuel so no I don't drive it till I get that fixed lol.

Keep us posted on what you are going to do with the distri. I have the stock one on mine but my resistance wire is about the crumple into piece so I need to do something.

Re: Just scored the replacement.....63 custom cab, bbw !!!

I'm trying to find the short video clip of the engine fire up...it's got a bad miss...hope it's a bad plug.

Although, I can't rule anything out untill I get fresh fuel into the tank...it's bad.

This was from the other night.....sorry, sound quality sucks.....

Can't seem to find in on my phone card...might of not worked...

Re: Just scored the replacement.....63 custom cab, bbw !!!

Looks like someone switched to an HEI. I had thought about doing that on my C60 but haven't done it, so I don't have any suggestions on the wiring. Shouldn't be hard for you to figure out.
