Re: project shorty 84
does anyone know which fuel filter would be good to run with the walbro 255 to have enough flow so not to burn out the high flow pump?

Will you have to modify the headers to get them to fit?

Re: project shorty 84
i just ordered up some linkages from summit for the truck. these part numbers might be useful to you guys cause this is what works according to my research.
throttle cable- lokar TC1000-LS1, or TC1000-LS1U, or XTC1000-LS1, the difference in the three being the finish, stainless, black, or black stainless. column shift linkage kit for 4l60e- lokar ACA-1800 i ordered both from summit the cable kit was 49bucks and the linkage was 54bucks.

Re: project shorty 84
good to see you went with summit line instead of fuel injection line. I got fuel injection hose from a local parts store when I ran my fuel lines for my s10 and it cost me as much as good braded line.
nice swap so far. you doing anything to the engine as far as internals go? a cheap and proven upgrade is a simple ls6 cam and springs. though I went with a slightly larger one in mine and I love it! I hope you got the right tranny, making an older 4l60e fit is a huge PITA. not worth the time or effort imo, converter spacing and getting it to line up right was horrid. i eventually ripped out my built 60e and put in a stock one of the right year and stock style(but higher stall) converter and it works great now. you will like currents work, I got thier harness for my s10 and it was perfect, I'll be using them for my future projects too.

Re: project shorty 84
i got the fatmat off of ebay..i think 50sq...i will have to check on that.
i have the newer 4l60e so fitment wasnt an issue, i got pretty far on the install yesterday. i am having issues finding someone to build me a power steering pump though!! no one has the connectors with the orings on them, i need a 90 on one side and a straight on the other, both the larger connector. i am also pondering on moving my battery to the other side of the compartment cause everything electronic is on the drivers side now. and.....last but not least,,if the battery gets moved i can get a cold air intake for a 99 silverado and run it too the passenger side.

Re: project shorty 84
cleaned out the injectors with seafoam, replaced the russel quick connect fuel fitting...she is running great now, very responsive. Also tested the transmission to make sure it goes into all gears with the lokar kit..and it does.

Awesome man! I take it the Schoenfelds's worked ok for you? I broke down and bought a set today. Keeping my fingers crossed that they don't give me any problems.

Re: project shorty 84
alien- the schoenfelds work great...little tight on the drivers side a arm but i have the dingo mounts so i just slid the motor back and the issue was solved.
you will love them did you get the uncoated or coated ones? i got the uncoated and did the eastwood titanium high temp header coating on them.
