Re: New truck!!!

The white truck is an '87 SWB that belongs to one of my bodymen. We parted out the '91 Suburban to get the engine for that truck. It had been sitting for a while, but it's back on the road now.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Re: New truck!!!

I haven't checked it since I filled it up this weekend. I was guessing 10 around town. I haven't been able to spend any quality time with it since I got it, but it breezed through the emissions test. I was shocked.

Yep. It runs pretty well. Starts right up, too.

I would like to swap it out, but it is pretty fresh. The truck has 3.73's in the rear, so it will drive 70-75 no sweat. Everyone I have talked to says something this heavy will destroy a 700R4, so I may have to save pennies and get a 4L80E. Or, add a few more pennies and get a 6.0 to swap in, too.

Re: New truck!!!

You make me sick dude!LOL I just wish I could find one that clean around here.

I think a 700r4 built right would hold up...especially if you CCSB it.

Re: New truck!!!

I think I'd section the dually fenders and add another dually axle to the rear end! Go big or go home!
