No the c/10 sending unit didnt work either, I had to cut it to work. I tried to find the one for the jeep tank, but never did.

Actually I had it above the heater box at first. but change my mind. I made a bracket and put under the dash on the left side. just above the fuse box.


He was a nice gentlemen, I gave him his asking price, not that i didn't try to talk him down. besides I would never steal anything from someone I didn't like.

[SIZE="4"]After putting the front fenders on for mock up, it was time to do something with that long bed.



after looking at others postes, who had cut the beds, and seeings how I had never welding before, I probably shouldn't cut up a rust free bed. so started looking for a short bed to trade or piece together. fond a guy on the fourm here that wanted to trade but, he was in southern Tenn. and we could never get together on a time to hook up. I finally met a local kid maybe 17 (who's is into 67-72 chevys) he said he can get bed panels cheep. so I gave him a shot. to make a long story short, he did get me 2 new short bed bedsides cheaper than I could find anywhere, With that I decided it would be easier and cheaper to cut the floor I had.



after flipping the bed over and carefully measuring where the floor should be cut.
I took the bedsides off and marked it. Armed with a airsaw, reciprocating saw, pneumatic cutoff wheel and my grinder with a cutoff wheel,flapper disc, eyeprotection and earmuffs I cut 12" out of the rear and 8" out of the front for a total of 20".











I grinded the edges smooth and put the pieces back together again with but weld clamps



.



Bolted the bedsides back on and spot welded it back together.





Here you can see my daughter helping her daddy. After grinding the welds, I shot a little rattle can primer on them. I plan on using a spray in bedliner on the floor to help hide the welds as well as some of the dings and dents of a old bed.



because of the careful measuring I had done, bedsides bolted right on when, and when I sat the bed down onto the frame, the original bolt holes lined up and the bed mounted perfectly.

Thanks! I bought one of Eastwood Companys welders, they were pre selling. I think it took about 3 months to get here. It is very nice welder for the money. they are made by Lincoln, (same as a Lincoln sp135, only blue) Iv used it here in the garage on few items now, I still wouldn't consider myself a welder just yet, but My welds are nice and strong, but man, are they ugly!

This is what it looks like all mocked up. in these pictures the Truck had 1" drop spings in the front and after staring at the Pictures for a while, I notice that it just dont look right. So I went ahead and put 2" drop springs in the front. she sits low now. One of the color on the fender is the color I decided to paint it. Those 5 choices are the different mix raitos of the two silver and gray colors I decided to use.













Now, that a color had been decided it was time to completely take it apart again.

looks great, the paint is somewhat hard to judge in the lighting but that test shot on the truck looks great

Those wheels with that color of paint is going to look perfect. So, what is the drop in that pic? Is it 1" drop springs up front and 4" drop springs in the back? Can you take a pic with the 2" drop springs? I assume this is with 2.5" drop spindles, correct?

In those and this pics the drop is 3.5/6. 2.5" drop in the spindles and 1" in the coils. The rear uses a 3" drop in coils, and with the Tubular trailing arms from porter, they have 3" drop built in. Now it has 2" springs in the front for 4.5/6 Sorry I dont have a picture of truck complete with the new springs. Yet
BTW I will be selling the 1" drop springs if anyone is interested

Thanks, I think I will go with the same 4.5/6 drop and the 18" wheel combo. I really like the way it looks.

Cleaning odds and end parts with my bead blast cabinet, before painting





drilled all the rivets out. Put in new foam rubber seals and riveted back together





Knock out old hinge-pins and put in new from (my Favorite place) Advance

About 2 weeks ago I got a new windshield. Started looking at my old side windows and back glass a decided there was just to much of a contrast between old and new. After doing some searching I found some Glass polishing disc made by 3m. Trizacts. they are 5" disc you put on your D/A there are 5 different grits they range from $3.50-$6 a disc. Most glass places recommend only doing this, if new glass cant be bought, because of the time invested. Well I figured I have more time then money so I gave it a shot. I only bought 1 disc of each grit ( they said they will go along way) cost about $35 total. I found. That there is only one way to destroy a piece of glass faster, and that is to throw it on the ground and break it! I completely destroyed one of my side windows you cant even see through it. and I wore all of the abrasives right of the disc in a matter of minutes. The professionals were right. I could see these discs working but it would take 25 or more per grit, plus a week per window to get the job done so the cost or time is just not worth it.
I ended up just buying new glass from Car Parts Direct. they shipped in a few days. They came packaged real well, lots of bubble wrap and the back glass came in a wood framed box with padding. I'm looking forward to putting them in. in the comming week.
