As far as getting her running, I'm still a bit away from that, hooefully within the month. Exhaust kit won't fit up to my cheapo headers but I got the adapter on the way. Wes from Classic Heartbeat is on it with the gas tank I ordered. And I also got some brackets for the stock throttle cables to the edlebrock carb on the way with the flange adapter. After that we should be able to turn the key and see what happens! Here's some of the other stuff I build... (I'm a lot better at these) Posted via Mobile Device

Re: FNG 72 K5 CST Project
Going to the Seahawks 49ers game tomorrow so not much more will be done. Go Hawks!!!
Got the rest of it cut to fit and mocked up but just don't have time. New tank is hanging too, just need to fix the well known issue about the tank neck. Thinking about cutting it and bridging the gap to the poly tank with a piece of hose and some hose clamps. Oh and saw this Badass Rat Rod today! Engine and pipes were completely exposed! Re: FNG 72 K5 CST Project
So I need opinions, is this tank gonna leak? The rubber fuel hose is a little to big compared to the original. Is it gonna leak, or is a super right double clamp on each side good to go? The size hose for the original is hard to find.

Re: FNG 72 K5 CST Project
Not sure what you mean by double barb ect.? Aw heck I didn't measure and can't remember what number the hose was I just cranked em down and double clamped them. The tank is in and so are the belts.
One question I have is I only need the alternator/water pump pully belt and the power steering belt right? I took out the AC so it's changed everything up a bit. And my next problem is I really have no idea how to hook up the carb. I got a bracket I thought would work, but it won't. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: FNG 72 K5 CST Project
Sorry missed your post last night.
Per the last gas tank pic, he is referring to the brass fitting next to the fill hose, he's asking if the part of the brass fitting inside the hose is a hose barb ( just like whats sticking out) or if you stuffed a threaded end inside a the hose and clamped it down. Per the belts, i run one belt to the power steering and crank pulley, one belt on the crank, water pump and alternator pulley's. this is the standard belt routing. As per the carb, there is an adapter plate you can buy that's suppose to work for the chevy truck by clamping to the throttle lever, i don't have one tho. lots of auto parts stores and places like Jeg's carry a bracket to mount throttle and kick down cables on. http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_...throttle.shtml I used something like this one: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...questid=399957

Re: FNG 72 K5 CST Project
It's cool I am stuck at work for the night. The tank cam with the fittings installed but to me it looks like they are threaded into the polymer and then clamped.
Looks like I have the belts set up the same way. I haven't had much luck with the first set of plates I got, and returned them to summit. I got to talking to a local guy at a local parts shop and showed him some of my pics and he's said I was practicall good to go. Just use the original bracket on the back left (driver side) of the carb bolt. So here's what I can up with... Posted via Mobile Device

Re: FNG 72 K5 CST Project
Cant see where the kick down cable is mounted but it looks like you got it all covered.
Wish i had thought of using the stock bracket that way before i bought the aftermarket. Back when i did mine i didn't have internet so all i could do was ask a neighbor so followed his advice.

Re: FNG 72 K5 CST Project
I think it goes straight back to the firewall? I'll check in the morning.
I just need to figure out where to put the spring, I saw this on the interwebs and it seems easy enough. Thoughts? Posted via Mobile Device
