Re: Project Evil Tow Rig - '87 CC SRW Conversion
I need some help from everyone here!
![]() I am at the point where I can do whatever I want with the interior colors EXCEPT the carpet...the carpet is all done and I ended up with ACC's 7295 Medium Doeskin color. The seats, plastic/metal/fiberglass interior garnish panels all still need to be re-done and the head liner is still not done either. I was thinking of a "Black & Tan" color scheme possibly. I was thinking about doing the head liner in a tan color matched from the carpet and re-finish all the garnish panels/trim in black. Then the seat covers would be a combination of black/charcoal leather trim and tan fabric or even tan sueded leather... The other idea is to re-finish all the garnish panels in a slightly different tan than stock, getting rid of the pasty off white upper panels, tan color matched head liner, tab leather trim on the seat cover and a tan/white hounds tooth pattern for the fabric part of the color. Throw out some ideas guys! I need help! FYI, the truck is staying white on the exterior color... Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Project Evil Tow Rig - '87 CC SRW Conversion
On my 76 I'm using tan seats and I was thinking of doing all the plastic pieces and headliner a darker tan for a couple reasons. One to stay cleaner looking and two, to minimize the paw prints. I thought about black, but wasn't sure if it'd be too much.

Re: Project Evil Tow Rig - '87 CC SRW Conversion
Well, I am finally making some progress as I had to replace both exhaust manifolds, re-plumb the soft lines for the AIR Injection and a bunch of other stuff under the hood!
I got the dash all done and back together, I ended up buying the NOS tach cluster case I found and modified it to work with the Speed Buffer Speedo...all I need is the brushed aluminum trim for the gauge bezel. ![]() ![]() A/C controls all restored and painted/polished. ![]() Carpet and foil backed EVA pad is installed with all new weather strip and NOS door sills. There is still a bit of finessing needed to get the carpet to lay perfect though. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Project Evil Tow Rig - '87 CC SRW Conversion
Things are moving along on the interior! I got the interior colors picked out and the upholstery goes in first week of February.
The carpet is already installed and you can see a swatch in this photo. The seating surface will be the lighter tan fabric and where the factory vinyl is, will be the darker leather in the upper right corner of the photo ![]() The interior trim is SEM Products Light Oak (15753) which is a lot lighter on the panels than the cap or samples indicate. ![]() The lighting sucks here, it's fluorescent and alters the color. I'll get better photos in daylight soon! Here it is compared to the factory Light Saddle color. ![]() I got the new GM dash pad (15641405) all color matched and perfect, with an NOS brushed aluminum trim insert (YE9 option - 14057898), NOS Silverado Emblem, and all NOS A/C ducts (even the driver side ducts). ![]() ![]() Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Project Evil Tow Rig - '87 CC SRW Conversion
The color matches the cap and the samples perfectly, what I'm saying is, the color looks dark when you look at a small spot like the cap or the sample on the color swatch page from SEM, but when you get it on a large surface, it mellows down considerably and doesn't look so dark.
It matches my ACC Medium Doeskin (7295) carpet almost perfectly as well! I am so happy with it! The headliner will match but 1 shade lighter than the carpet. It wil help the interior feel bigger. I can't wait for the upholstery so I can have that nice light color offset by the dark leather. Posted via Mobile Device

The dash pad is still a stocked part for GM warehouses. Any dealer can still get it for you...I paid $380.00 but my parts guys hook me up.

Thank you for the subscription and the kind words! I love my attention to detail as well...sometimes my bank account begs to differ, but I always follow one saying...
"If you don't do it properly, with all intentions of perfection, what is the point of doing it?"

Re: Project Evil Tow Rig - '87 CC SRW Conversion
I ordered a sample of the 7295 just to make sure and it is a slightly darker, more tan (less fleshy pink) than the stock light saddle. I love it, it's perfect for any tan interior and will still go well with the stock light saddle interior trim pieces.

Man that looks awesome!
Your carpet will lay right once it gets hot and it has a chance to form to the floor curves better and has a little weight on it from your feet as well. That dash looks so good!! I'm jeolous! ![]()
