Thanks Rogue. It was good to finally meet you. Stephen snatched you up pretty quick though. He spoke very highly of you.

Re: Lone Star Round Up

Man, LSRU was bigger than ever this year. I had the pleasure of meeting Knuckledragger, Jesse and Stephan. The down side of this year was on the way to our hotel on Friday afternoon my daughter and future son in law broke down in the Model A, they weren't getting any fuel to the carb. I-35 in rush hour traffic is not the place to lose fuel pressure. road side fixes would get them a mile or so then it started all over again. DANG IT!!! My truck started to overheat in the traffic so I got off of the freeway and tried getting some air flowing which worked well until the carrier bearing gave out. DANG IT AGAIN!!! Several hours later I had a wrecker pick me and my truck up and take us to a shop that said they would start on it first thing Saturday morning. They did but the mechanic didn't like the feel of the new U-joint from the auto parts store so he ordered 2 more to find one he liked, the first one was too tight. But we finally got everything buttoned up and on the road by 1pm. I still had time to make it back to the show. To much traffic kept my overheating truck off of Congress but we watched and cruised the "A". I will try to send some pictures later. Everytime I scan my PC with Norton Utilities I can't upload anything because my "security token" is missing. Can one of the mods tell me how to fix this..

Re: Lone Star Round Up

I guess the roundup inspired me to work on the truck. Went out today and got the engine unbolted and ready to pull. Harbor freight tommorrow for a engine hoist and its out. then rebuild or find one already rebuilt and back on the road.

That's awsome Richard!!! My trip to The Round Up last year lit a fire in my ass to get my truck done too. You should start a build thread. I don't think I've ever seen your truck.

Ha!My wife is excited that I can have some family time now.I have not touched my truck since sunday. It might be going to the muffler shop on saturday though. It will be nice to go back and do some of the things that I skipped to make my deadline. You know ,like insulation and making the throttle pedal fit and so on.Btw a cherokee throttle pedal assembly works great in our trucks.I had a great time and enjoyed meeting alot of you guys.

Re: Lone Star Round Up

Bought a used engine hoist today and just my luck broke the damn weld on it. I think what happened was the trans was up against the cab of the truck, I was pulling engine and trans together, nothing was lifting up so I kept cranking on the lift. I finaly noticed the boom leaning foward and the weld cracking, think I was lifting the whole truck, not just the engine. Yea i'm a dumb ass ,6 to 8 weeks to get new parts for the hoist, then try again.
