Re: My tach install thread
I agree with the light should work OK. When I did mine I wired the light to the ignition so it stays on when running and that is OK with me.

Re: My tach install thread
Update: i do plan to make these still. I recently bought a CNC milling machine and don't have it wired up yet. Hope to soon. Going to try and mill them from one piece. I have a lot of projects waiting for it and hopefully i can have some made by end of summer.

Re: My tach install thread
Are you thinking of milling these out of one piece of aluminum?

Re: My tach install thread
Well after struggling most of yesterday to get my tach fitted your post was very timely! Could you out me down for a bracket but also a request.
Could you put the other light socket into your bracket as I plan to use the "over speed" light. Let me know. P. |

Heck, yes, I like this idea. Put me down for a bracket as well when you get around to making them.

Re: My tach install thread
This tach idea is good, and it looks good. But i am not sure if this Sun tach is still available. Couple years ago it was available everywhere, like ebay and amazon. Today i cant find any. The only tach available that looks like this is made by Bosch. You should look into that before making the brackets.
Is it possible that Bosch bought out Sun? |

Re: My tach install thread
If you get around to making these, I would for sure be interested in one. Also the only one I have found is also made by Bosch now as well. Bosch-Actron FST8050. Looks to be identical.

Re: My tach install thread
If you are going to make a bracket, I would definitely be interested. I am about to do a new instrument cluster for me and a friends truck...so I would need 2. Let me us now an approximate cost when you can.

Re: My tach install thread
0k i need all to chime in on those who want one of these tach mounts. I finally have my machines running and will gather up my notes and see what i need to make these. I will give a month to who is in on one. Im hoping I'm not violating any forum rules here, but thinking $40 each.

Re: My tach install thread
Thiessen1960 is correct, they are made by Bosch now. Thank goodness they are still being made. I thought for a second that i was up a creek without a paddle cuz i couldn't find them on Summit. Looks like Jegs has them also. And they are cheaper. So let me know how many would like one. I will at least make 3 to start.

Re: My tach install thread
The new tach is sold under the Bosch brand and made by Actron. They are sold under 2 different part numbers: OEM number FST8050 or manufacturer number SP0F000063.
Put me down for a bracket please.
