Re: Chevelle SS of a new ERA!
So over the last little while I picked up a basically rust free shell from a friend with doors and truckload. Doors were fully loaded and the shell is amazing. Just a little bit of rust around the wheel wells. Got it for 400. It is amazing. I also picked up a 5.3 with all accessories and harness for 500. Then picked up the gto engine mounts, oilman, and stock exhaust manifolds for 300. We decided to build just a really nice driver that sounds awesome mbut it should be within reach for our budget. So as of now we need the bumpers. Taillights and rear taillight valances. Front grille surround, headlight surrounds and rad support. Coming along nicely I think!

Re: Chevelle SS of a new ERA!
That new shell is very clean looking... I gotta be honest here as I was really wanting to see ya work the old one into shape with your metal skills.. However I do understand the time and money saved with a clean shell..

Re: Chevelle SS of a new ERA!
I can not deny you that. There would have been some metal magic with that last shell. But up here it is so hard to find one that is clean. I have never seen one this nice. Besides, I have some serious metal magic ideas for this car anyway. Besides goin over the gto, I believe a tilt hood, shaved but not shaved doors, a minor haircut possibly custom bumpers and side skirts plus more. Just means I get to spend more time doing some cool stuff. So as of right now I have this shell and havoc sitting side by side at a friends. All good

Re: Chevelle SS of a new ERA!
Congrats bro on the sweet find with that body. What year bumpers are you looking for? I found NOS front and rear bumpers for mine, so I may have the others off of mine for sale. The are repops in excellent condition. They are 71-72 bumpers.

Re: Chevelle SS of a new ERA!
WHAT!! No bullet holes? Oh well, still cant wait to kick back and watch this build. I've been NUKEified, I come to alternate tinkerings just to see if you've updated, good luck with the new body.

Re: Chevelle SS of a new ERA!
Going to be a cool car . Not to pick but unless you have the build sheet I would say that is a Malibu just like mine was . No 70-72 SS cars had rocker moulding . It's impossible to tell a SS car without the build sheet there's nothing on trim tag that tells.
