Re: 63 Chevy SWB converting to 4x4

Well I finally got the brake lines in and the brakes bled. Then I put in the gas tank and cut down the fuel lines.I spent the last week getting the rear pinon angle set and the pads welded also had to move the right shock mount from the front to the rear of the axle.I used the original panhard bar and built brackets out of 2 inch by 1/4

Re: 63 Chevy SWB converting to 4x4

I got the truck running and brakes working and got excited that I can move it ,so I drove it up the road and back a couple of blocks now I cant wait to get this thing on the road.Next I would like to get the cluster and dash wiring hooked up .Im not sure if anyone has tried this but I would like to hook up the cruise control as all the wiring and switches are already there but I need the optical sensor that went to the speedo on the 87,I think I can cut a hole the back of the 63 speedo and make it fit.

It's been awhile since I have posted anything but the truck is now licensed and I've been driving it to work. I removed the original rusted bumper and I am going to use a 10 inch dropped one,it was chrome but a little rusty so I will spray with bed liner after making mounting brackets.
