Re: Cream puff

Not the original hood, and i bet money that its 132k miles. Undercariges dont get that dirty(not that its dirty) in 32k miles. Also, shouldnt the motor be blue in 76? Still a sweet ass SWEET truck that i would just about die to own!

The hood is 79-80 only. The style line on the front of the hood gives it away. It looks like it was replaced long ago looking at the pics.

The engines were orange through '76 . '77 was the transition year on engine color. I have a factory 454 short bed that is late '76 built and it is orange. The '77 trucks I have owned have all had blue engines if they were 350's. My yellow '76 has an orange 350 in it.
Ken, I would love to own that truck but its not feasible right now. Too many things going on with th teenage boys to get into another truck . Now if it was a 12 valve cummins regular cab 3/4 ton four wheel drive I could talk the wife into it since I have a son looking for one. Since it. Would be another one for me so its out.

Re: Cream puff

That steering wheel wood grain looks like what you would expect a low mileage truck to look like.

Re: Cream puff

That appears to be a low mile original from things I can see (pictures only show so much though)

I have a few low mile unrestored muscle cars here as that's always been my cup of tea, and this truck gives all indications of being just that, but I would love to see it in person.

The hood appears to have been replaced. My guess is probably from hail damage since Arizona gets alot of that during monsoon season. Most times it makes more sense to replace the panel rather than repair. Since this is a low mile vehicle that obviously hasn't been subject to much sunlight, a paint match for hood would be rather easy to do, and possibly spray tops of fenders to blend.

I say hail damage because I don't see signs of any type of front end collision from the pics shown.

Overall a very good example of an original truck. If it were a 4x4 I'd be down there to buy it

Re: Cream puff

I really don't want to sound like im knocking this truck cause she is a beauty! But there is no way an undercarriage gets that kind of grease and grime build up in 32k miles. I also understand that the op has done right and not claimed it to be 32k and only states that is what the Speedo shows.
