Re: Intake Ducting
I wanted to use a classic type filter.
All the ducting is Specter elbows, connectors and tubes. Here is a thread on it if you are interested. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=412824 Good luck TR

Re: Intake Ducting
Went ahead and bought this ebay filter
http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-RED-GMC-Ch...aa9a8c&vxp=mtr I'll let you guys know how it turns out. I'd like to keep the battery in the stock location, and I have no AC so we'll see.

Re: Intake Ducting
Yeah. I was thinking my heater box hose might be in the way too, but its actually the stupid van dipstick I'm thinking of.

Re: Intake Ducting
Did you have to move your battery or is it in the stock location?

Re: Intake Ducting
Mine is still in stock location. For some reason I can't post pics on here anymore. Keep getting message that says " Cannot display web page" " Diagnose connection problem?"

Re: Intake Ducting
No idea on the photo thing, but I always use photo bucket and just post the link. Good to know I shouldn't have to move it though.

Re: Intake Ducting
So I got the kit in the mail today. It hits the van dipstick, so I'm going to cut it down and see how it fits then. It looks like it will still be pretty close to the battery and even if it doesn't hit it, I may relocate it for better air.

Re: Intake Ducting
I just took a hacksaw to the van tube, then cut the stick down by the same amount. It isn't exact but I don't trust the dipsticks on the 4l80 anyway. Best way to make sure there is enough is to drop the pan just a hair and fill it til it starts overflowing. The fluid level on a 4l80 should be dead even with the lip of the pan. Got that info from Jake, of Jakes performance so I trust it.
In other news, it fits ok. Quality is what I expect for $64 from eBay. The aluminum tube is polished fairly well, but the couplers don't look particularly pretty. They still work so that's all I ask. It is HUGE though. Barely fits in my setup. With the battery moved it would get a much better flow of air.

Try not to be too impressed. Put a lot of thought and hard work into that engineering right there.
