TONNEAU COVER - - Project C10R
Here is a little update.....Got the Tonneau Cover done yesterday. Totally happy with how it turned out. it was one of those things, I just winged it. Had the idea in my head of what I wanted....and this was the result. I know some will ask what the seam in the rear is about..... the front section of the cover tilts up like a normal tonneau to access the bed, shocks, battery, fuel system, etc. the year section is fixed mounted for the fuel filler and the rear aero is attached to it. This way I won't have to undo the spoiler everytime I need to fuel up. I wanted that stuff easily obtainable.

Re: PCHRODS Build : Project C10R
How about building me a carbon fiber bed topper with the last 10 inches split and piano hinged ? that way i can add my 12 volt actuators to lift the rear air dam ? I know ,I know show me the money ! Well How much ? for a short wide bed '67 ? Super high gloss clean edges ? smooth as my 19 yo girlfriends ..........never mind .... it's only money I'll make more ! I have CA connections to pick it up . and air freight it home for free to me ...Whatcha Got ? Step up or punk out ? The worst I can say is Nope too expensive !

Hey Rob, I'm digging the new truck so far. I'm the guy you got your truck bed seat from in Vista, you should post a pic of that. Keep us posted as this truck progresses.

Re: PCHRODS Build : Project C10R
updates.....
We are just about ready to send the chassis and all the pieces over to the powder coater. But we are going to be building the engine this weekend, which I will post a bunch of pics of the process for you guys, but here's a couple teaser pics of what showed up.

Re: PCHRODS Build : Project C10R **Got the short end of the stick**
Well, we received some disturbing news the other day. We had bought an LS engine on ebay from a GM dealership, ad said 9,000 miles with valve train noise. Which I was cool with, because we were planning on replacing all the valve train anyways including heads. So I went down this route because it was cheaper than buying a new one. I even spoke to the guy on the phone before purchasing, explained it all to me...blah blah blah to say the least. So I decided to tear the motor down on Monday so we could start building it. I took the Left head off and to my amazement I found 2 cracked pistons, pretty much making me want to throw up. Then I took the passenger side head off and same thing. So I came to the conclusion the valve train noise was actually piston pieces bouncing around in the cylinders. So needless to say I got the short end of the stick.....Unfortunetly I purchased this engine about a year ago. I took the guys word for it, bad idea. Back to square one on the engine. which sucks because we don't really have the budget to be buying motors left and right. But I have to get the truck done...so the search is on.

Re: PCHRODS Build : Project C10R
That sucks. I bought a 6.0 last week and was told " it used a lot of oil". Upon removing the oil pan I found all the rods were starved because of the jelly like oil in it, and it destroyed all the rods and broke the crank. Fortunately I got it super cheap, the block is good, and already had another crank so I'm still OK. Sorry to hear about your dilemma.

Re: PCHRODS Build : Project C10R
Got the back half and the front half of the cage done this weekend. now i can blow the chassis apart and send it over to the powder coater, after I button up a few box in points on the cage that I can't really get to with the cab in place. It's getting there.....what do you think?

Re: PCHRODS Build : Project C10R
yes both down bars front and rear tie into the main section of the cage. And the master cylinders on the firewall, one is front brake, rear brake and clutch.

Re: PCHRODS Build : Project C10R
What it does is uses a "balance bar" off a single pedal. Allowing you to control front to rear bias, with an adjuster knob remotely mounted in the truck. This way you can do it on the fly, which is great for a racing application for different track set ups.
