Of course, it also comes down to how you drive, i guess if you have a mild V8 and drive conservatively i would think there wouldn't be any problems. Me personally, I'm already pushing past the max torque rating of the Non-WC V8 T5, and I don't drive conservatively I had my Non-WC V8 T5 behind an inline 6 and now behind my 350 and it worked well with both.

Re: 62 c/10 engine swap
A Small block will not bolt up to a bellhousing that was bolted to a 235. You will either have to find a '62 and earlier V8 bellbousing or just go with a later model hydraulic bellhousing and add a trans crossmember.

Re: 62 c/10 engine swap
Where can I find pics of a 62 with the 72 motor stands bolted in. Or correct location specs. I know they need a 1/2 shim on top frame holes. I saw a post awhile back but can't seem to find it now.

Re: 62 c/10 engine swap
If you want to keep the hydraulic clutch setup with a small block, you have a couple options.
1. Find an original Hydraulic Bellhousing with the casting number 3765710. They are hard to find and usually too darn expensive, compared to a mechanical bellhousing. There might be one on Ebay, the one picture looks promising and claims the right casting number. http://www.ebay.com/itm/65-67-CHEV-G...5fe713&vxp=mtr 2. Your other option is use a mechanical bellhousing with the Novak setup. https://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/clutch/kit_hcr3.htm But with the cost of a bellhousing and that setup, you probably won't save any money from an original hydraulic bellhousing. Either way, if you convert to disc brakes. You'll need to buy Captains Master Cyl adapter. He has it for Manual or Power brakes and Hydraulic clutch or Mechanical. So Whatever setup you choose, hes got what you need and I can attest that his stuff is TOP NOTCH. However, another option. I believe you can convert to mechanical clutch linkage too. I'm not certain on the what how to do that. I kept mine hydraulic.

Re: 62 c/10 engine swap
This is a pic I have posted before of the '67-'72 small block engine mount brackets siting on a '62 GMC frame and crossmember in the approximate location where they should be.

Re: 62 c/10 engine swap
Next question, going 350 using the 72 side mounts, will be running a T5 or Muncie 4 speed with newer model bell. Is there a source for a rear trans cross member for the 62,s. Found them for 63 on down, but not the 62 back.

Re: 62 c/10 engine swap
I had some 1/2"×3" box tube Bolted to bottom of frame. One across and one small piece to shim up. A tube and flat plates can do the same thing.

Re: 62 c/10 engine swap
There are no aftermarket trans crossmembers for the '60-'62 trucks. You will have to fabricate one, or modify a factory one to work.

Re: 62 c/10 engine swap
Headed to the pick n pull in the morning on a scouting mission. Any input on the nv3500 trans. They seem to have lots more s10,s in those year models than for the t5. Not that I'm in a hurry and can't wait on that. Mainly looking for a decent short or long block to build, but never know what I might run across.

Re: 62 c/10 engine swap
Here is the bellhousing I have in my 61...it uses the factory crossmember and has the hydraulic clutch on the passenger side...is this what you are looking for? And, if I am reading your original question correctly, the "horseshoe" engine mount will work on the 350. In fact, I had that horseshoe mount on my engine for years...
You can use the factory holes for everything... Tom

Here's a couple of photos with the 67-72 motor mounts and the spacers on top of the frame rails.

Re: 62 c/10 engine swap
Been doing a lot of reading on them this evening and not keen on the one piece bell and trans. No good info on the hydraulic clutch setup that I could understand. Will go with the T5 unless I find a good Muncie for a deal, lol.

Re: 62 c/10 engine swap
Do you mean a Muncie T10? That will have a 1:1 final drive which will be the same as a factory 3 speed. The T10 is a very popular choice with the muscle car crowd but if you go with that then maybe look for a taller rear diff for better highway RPMs.
