Got one of the new rear doors stripped and got the rest of the driver side stripped. Except I'm still on the hunt for a new driver side bedside! If I don't find one soon I'll have to just fix this one :doah:

I do it as much as I can. The wife still requires some attention. But she knows I'm up against somewhat of a deadline so she is trying to be as understanding as possible.

I know it's in a garage but how long can you leave all the exposed metal out before worrying about flash rust? Did you put something on it?

Up here in the nw it's not too big of deal. But before I prime I'll be giving it the ospho treatment. You take the ospho which is a rust converter and work it in to the surface good with a Scotch Brite and or wire brush, keeping it liquid and not letting it dry, then hose it off with water and immediately blow dry with compressed air/leaf blower and then prime it.

Looking good! The epoxy will be a breeze to spray on. I haven't had any problem with it wanting to run or anything, so its a fun way to learn your way around your spray gun, and how to clean the gun, etc.

Picked up the new bed side. It's in pretty good shape aside from that one rust area and a couple small dents. Should still be better off than using the bondo side.

Well today I got the bed all bolted/welded on. About as soon as I was done with that my wife, who had been rafting on the river with her friend, called me and said one of their cars needed a jump... So I had to boogie out and do that. The bright side is it was a great day for a nice little cruise in the burb down to the river. So good and bad I guess. Tomorrow I should be able to get the new bedside sanded and start pulling the dents and fixing it up. Considering taking Monday off work (since I'm working both days this weekend...) to get my garage converted into a paint both. If all goes well I'll lay some primer by next weekend. Wish me luck!
