They look super cool with a flip kit, but you will need a frame notch and maybe a bump in the floor.
Blazers are different in this area, compared to the trucks.

I've lowered two of these.
A '79 and a '82 2wd blazer.
My '79 got drop shackles and I removed all but 3 leaf springs.
I wouldn't suggest this.
My '82 got lowered leaf springs.
Your rear leaf springs should be the 52" version.
www.performanceonline.com sells them.
Also if you add a drop shackle for the rear leaves, the right side gets into your fuel fill hose.
So that will need to be re-routed.
I would stick with a 5" drop leaf spring by itself.

The front will be just like c10 trucks with the normal spindle/spring drop.

Good luck.
So we finally got moved and I'm going to get moving on the drop. I am going to go with those springs Keith as they are in fact 52" on the Blazer. The rear is already lower than the front, thoughts on 5" drop up front? Crown Suspension sells a 3" DS and 2" spring that I would like to order to go along with this as well as new shocks.

Any recommendations on shocks?

Thanks!
Dan

A lot of people like Belltech shocks or RideTech shocks.

Re: Hoping to pick this '76 2wd up

Does anyone know who makes a C notch for a blazer? I'm looking at the McGaughy's deluxe 4.5/6 kit for c10 trucks, they tell me the C notch won't work for Blazer. Trying to find a complete Blazer kit isn't easy. Crown makes one but I don't think it will be the quality of McGaughy's.

Thanks.

Crown is the only one I found that made a preformed notch. They are not hard to build though yourself if you are a welder.

Also, I'm not sure what height front tire you are running but Id be concerned a 5" drop will be running the LCA into the ground on small bumps. I was running a 2.5" spindle and a 3" spring with a 27" tall tire and it was pretty much undrivable without tearing up lower control arms.

Here is the thread talking about it.

Re: Hoping to pick this '76 2wd up

Thanks, ended up going with McGaughy's 4.5/6 Deluxe kit minus the c notch and getting the Crown c notch. Blazer is in storage, I need to go measure the rotor thickness before I order is all. It should be 1 1/4" but I have no clue if they have been swapped out at any time. I will be running 20's, thanks for the input!
