Keep looking for a truck because that one is probably not worth looking at. Seller may very well find a sucker and dump it on him.

Bill

Around here we will gladly spend someone else's money however in this case we hopefully saved you some.

Thanks Bill

Re: To buy or not to buy

You did the right thing. As many have said, 30K is a TOTALLY restored, perfect truck!!! No flaws at all. On the east coast, you can buy one of these for 20K all day long, in excellent condition. Just sayin'........ They just don't bring 30K unless of course they have a new LS motor, chrome everything, etc. Basically a show truck.

Re: To buy or not to buy

If this truck were a "deal" it would already have sold and nobody would be posting a thread asking about it. Do you want a "deal" or a nice truck? It seems most people are more concerned about what someone else thinks than buying what they want, or they want to make a ton of money when they resell it. I wouldn't pay $30K for it because it isn't exactly what I want...not because I think it's a pile of junk. The combination you seek (swb, big block, etc, etc) is hard to find as original, most trucks have all that stuff added. If you do find all that on a spid, expect to pay top dollar for it...and it will be more than $30K if in restored condition. If you don't like this truck, don't buy it...but ask yourself how long have you been looking and how long are you going to keep looking? Nice ones are hard to come by and the prices aren't coming down in the meantime.

Re: To buy or not to buy

I felt the truck you were interested in the seller was misleading you and when you have questions about a 30k truck he stopped talking to you. I am sure there are honest sellers out there. Those trucks big block, swb are hard to find and dishonest sellers are cashing in on them. Keep looking.

Re: To buy or not to buy

Glad to see you got one. It looks lots better than the first one. But I'm always in favor if green trucks. What engine does it have?

Thanks for the compliments gentlemen. The truck has a 350 that has all the correct date codes. The engine runs good but its a little weak and has a couple leaks so i will be rebuilding it and adding a little power. The truck has been stored for the last 23 years in Kentucky. It was pulled out last year and was "freshened up". Exterior of truck was repainted the factory color however it doesn't quite match the interior. I like the exterior color better so i will be painting the interior to match. It has all the factory panels on it that have the same color as the interior behind the panels. original wood bed that is going to be pulled and re-stained. Here are some pics of the rear wheel openings someone asked for in a pm but i can't figure out how to insert saved images there.

Re: To buy or not to buy

Yeah, that's more like it. I think you did well. I don't see many that color and maybe that's why I like it. One of our members named Sklptrljay out in Cali has one similar. Let me see, I think I have a pic of his. I don't think he'll mind if I post it for him.
