Re: Cubber's Build Thread

We had a great time at Chuck/thelonerife's yesterday. We tackled a few of Chuck's projects, and the guys helped me string align my truck, and I put the correct steering wheel adapter on, and we fixed some wiring that the front tire had rubbed on. It was really a great time, and a good warmup for the 16th! Being able to drive my truck over the weekend has been amazing, and has reminded me what a great resource this board is, not only for info, but to meet cool people to hang out with, and of course, work on trucks!!

Re: Cubber's Build Thread

I took this pic of Matts truck yesterday with the Nashville skyline. Because we were both moving on the interstate the skyline blurred a little. Still a cool pic though!

Re: Cubber's Build Thread

I have decided to get some different wheels, lol. I need some advice on what to get. The 15's just aren't cooperating with the drop spindles and other components, and I don't want to cut everything up just to fit a set of wheels i was gonna change soon anyway. I think I like 18" as a size, but they need to tuck, and I would like to not break the bank.

Dang. If i had a rewind, I would go back and buy Rus' old 20's, and then i could have cut Jeff a good deal on those tires! hindsight....

Re: Cubber's Build Thread

Technicaly all you need is a 16" rim to make everything work as it should.
The bigger you go the more expensive it gets, 18" rims will run you over $200 apiece and nearly the same amount for tires, so take a hard look before you leap.

Re: Cubber's Build Thread

Maple Motors up here in Hendersonville can get you a nice set of Boss 338's 18/20's for around $600.

I have seen a cl add from them, and I wondered if anyone had done business with them. I like the 338s with gray centers, or the MB Old School wheels that Summit sells. They are close to the same price.

Don't you have to grind the hub to use the Boss wheels?

Re: Cubber's Build Thread

I like those, but they don't come in 5x5 lug pattern. Plus, they're 300 bucks a piece! I don't know what to do. I like my wheels I have, too.
