Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Drove mine, the MH, 70 miles each way to a cruise in. The farthest I've taken it so far. I found out a few things. 1 the front gas tank leaks pretty good. 2 the radiator overflows and there isn't a recovery bottle, yet. 3 it handled the mtns around here pretty well.

Installed my newly ceramic coated headers on my 500 Cadillac engine in my 64 step. Fine tuned the timing and took it for a spin. Ready to go to the exhaust shop.

That looks so cool! I imagine a torque monster powerplant will be a lot of fun to drive.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Fought with my new custom length MSD plug wires before almost throwing the crimpers across the shop. I've never built wires before.

Tried a bit of dielectric grease, then WD40 to lube the boots. Still can't get them to slide back over the terminal.

The YouTube looks so easy....what is the trick?

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

So far today, on the '65 Daily Driver project.-I've got the front end lowered about 2 1/2" with a different set of springs. Only took about 1/2 hour, since didn't have to knock loose any ball joints or anything. Just unbolted the shocks, removed upper control arm nuts, lowered spindle down as far as brake hose would let me, removed the springs, installed new springs and bolted it back up. Easiest I've ever lowered the front of one of these..
After lunch, going to relocate the fuel tank, run an electrical check with the new steering column hooked up to check turn signals, horn and hazard lights.

May get around to actually putting the hood on and making it look like a truck again!, LOL.

That's the way I did it! I think it is due to the 90 degree boots, they won't slide back over the terminal.

My speed shop guy say crimp the end on, then slide the boot over. Will give that a try. I have lots of beer on hand just in case!

Isn't that the way you already tried it? get some wires w/the boots on them instead, in any case lots of beer will solve the problem Eah...Vernski
