Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
Man I can really appreciate the work you put into your truck. The pictures show a radical contrast from a stock truck. Nice job. If I didn't say it before. Where in the world did you get the idea to use the combination from these cars?

well the first thing was creative customs "pink freak" (the truck in my avatar) so I went to the salvage yard in search of parts to do my own clone of that truck... they didn't have anything similar, but they did have a 61 plymouth.. just from a Quick visual in the yard, it looked like the cowl panel would match up with the plymouth fender. I like the look of the plymouth front end...but the rest of the car not so much, its like they had 3 different guys style it, and they were not allowed to talk to each other the rest of the truck kinda came together out of necessity or from the parts I had. Not bad Martin. Put some bands on them and you will be set.
One question though...............You aren't calling that a 64 are you ? Just wandering since the emblem is a 65. |

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
Gotcha Martin. I just saw the emblem on the cowl was a 65 emblem.
Nice looking truck though!! What engine do you have in it ? Do you have the 3 on the tree or auto ? |

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
The engine size is still a small mystery. It's either a 230 or 250. It has a very generic block number that covers the entire spectrum of years it was used and I'm still trying to trace down the number next to the distributor, and it has the 3 on the Tree.
It may well be a '65. I didn't see a distinct manufacture date. When I ran the numbers it just said 00/00/1964. So it may very well be a year model '65 manufactured in 1964 (which makes sense). I'm still trying to get as many detailes on it as I can.

Unless someone put a 65 emblem on it, that is if you aren't the original owner.

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
I was born in '64, so I'm not the original owner. I did happpen to stumble across a local guy at Kragen today with a very nice '66 C20/327 that he restored. He confirmed it's a year model '65, built in '64. He also said it's more likely a 230 than a 250. I'm cool with that....
Yes, the title say's 00/00/1964. Thanks for more info with the data sheet. I'll see what numbers I can get off that. There's a plate on the drivers side kick panel with the trim data on it. I just can't see it to read it. I tried taking a couple pictures of it to blow it up but they came out blurred.

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
Yup, that's it. From what I'm learning, that package is pretty common. I'm thinking about going with a V-8/TH350 over time. I'm not in a hurry to change it out, but I think I'm going to start getting things together. I don't want a hot-rod, but a nice "driver" is what I'm after.
