I have had a few ideas in my head.

I think I like the look of metal cast paint by dupli color. I have been thinking either blue or yellow. Or perhaps I just need to finish what I have with my proposed grill additions.

Any thoughts?
My thoughts are black inserts around the light and yellow bowtie. I don't think I'd go with the blue... just my opinion.

I think the blue is out. Mentioned it to the co-pilot and I got the barn yard gawk sideways. Ha.

I have never seen a Steel Conventional with the larger rectangular lamps, unless that is some odd European thing, I think it's a nicely done custom setup.

This is the only factory dual lamp setup that I know of, on C60/C70 Kodiak/TopKick (92 BBC) chassis trucks:

UPNADM, if you want to try a dealer the part number for the chrome Chevrolet grille is 02001142.

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion

Keep an eye on eBay, sometimes I see NOS medium duty truck parts pop up, and often the prices are reasonable, not sure the shipping would cheap, but it may be worth a look.

I was planning on going but money issues kind of stopped that.

Mike Losh who's here on the forum is going to be there with his truck Square Peg, and I've heard of a couple other forum memebers are going to be there. I've heard it's a one of a kind show.

Would love to go no doubt!

Wow.....that would make a great project. Living in the rust belt myself I'm really jealous of all the rust free trucks in the south west

With all that in mind, I am ready to get back at it.

I have been driving around all summer without inner fenders, and the fact that they are taking up floor space, I decided to go at them. I had a start in the spring, but never finished.

Well, I will hopefully have them in before the weekend is done.
30 Days later... Finally got a chance to get my inners in. My dad gave me an extra set of hands and we got them in. The little things... ha!

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion

As previously mentioned, I am pulling my Son's school Christmas Float in the Santa Clause Parade. With that in mind, I had to get a hitch for the truck. My cousin was kind enough to give me a hand to fab up a new hitch.

He filled, welded and smoothed my hitch as well as a hole that was previously in the bumper.

Looks great!

A little grinding and some paint, and a great finished product!

Now to put the bumper back together...

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion

Our local parade was today.

The C50 was able to pull my son's float, and add to the theme of "Toyland".

A first place float for Queen Victoria Public School.

I did not have the only eye catching square in the parade... check out the photos.

Just got another quick question. What size are the wheels and tires on your truck?
