Had a chance to put on the front clip. The axle is perfectly centered! I also took pictures of the inner fender cut out.

Looks good. I just cut my inner fenders too but have a little bit more trimming to do. I am working on putting disc brakes on my 10 bolt right now.

Re: Gatorbuilt '59

Quick update. Not much progress lately. My neighbor recently introduced me to one of his friends as someone who is 'trying to build a truck' so I decided that wanted to hear a motor run that I built five years ago.(I havent heard it run in five years either). So after about 4 hours of motor dressing, and time setting SHE RAN!!!! NOW every Sunday and Saturday morning I try to wake the nieghbor up. Excuse the Break Bondo dust.

Sorry for not getting back with you sooner. I bought a completly new bed from several diferent venders. I got the tail gate from Chevy Duty, the fenders, roll pan, steps, front panel and cross suports from LMC and the bedsides, stainless strips and wood from Jim Carter's.

Re: Gatorbuilt '59

I mounted my stainless battery box on the inside of the frame rails. To get to it the truck needs to be on jack stand and then drop the box down. I also used side mount cables.

Re: Gatorbuilt '59

If you dont mind me asking, how much did that drop box cost?...Is there any cheaper solutions. I was thinking of just making some brackets and slaping it under the frame, then having a cut out in my bed to access it.

Thanks. Seems as if we both had the same idea. I shopped around for the venders w/ the best Price. and came up with an EXCEL spread sheet on the nessacary parts.

Mine's on the outside of the frame pass side underneath the door...plenty of room to drop the battery down and disconnect!

Re: Gatorbuilt '59

I'M BACK!!! I finally had a chance to have the exhaust inastalled. Due to the fuel tank being inside the rails, I chose to have the exhuast exit and turn down in front of the rear tires. The mufflers and brake booster will require heat shields.
