Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
I am using stock truck pan, hangs about inch below front xmember.
You can use that if you are not too low, or go with fbody pan.

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
Chris,
s&p sent me a new set of headers, they just kicked the collector out on drivers side. I left the original pass side on my truck, because it fits and why take it off? s&p headers are aprrox. $600 shipped.

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
PCMCOBRA what kind of shifter linkage did you have to use? Do you still have the shifter on the column also? I have a 96 LTI that i want to put a 4l60E behind i dont know if our stock shifter linkage will work. I have an 86 GMC shortbed. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks Michael

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
I have the lokar ACA-1800, it's pricey, if I did it again I would get the kuegels, a little less $
From other posts I have read here and on other forums, stock linkage will work with the 4l60e, it can be made to work with a 4l80e, but I don't have a welder and the lokar seems to be what I needed with the 4l80e. Yes, I have shifter on column...

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I just dont think you are going to be happy with the whole setup . Me being a nice guy , I will take the setup off your hands and install a nice 350 /th350 setup for you . I think you will be much happier with less HP , no overdrive , carb vs injection , and way less WOW factor . Just kidding . That is an awesome install ! I imagine it will be hard to keep your foot out of it with that much power on tap .

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
And the ref takes a point away! Dang Rob that was cold. But yeah I agree, will all the free time he has had it should have been done weeks ago. After he gets the VATS deleted and has his 'puter setup for his tires and rearend he should be cruising to the BK in no time.

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
Off the exhaust subject here for a second…
Are you guys still running your dual fuel tank switch valve with the electric fuel pump? My 8.1L does not like returning fuel to the tank through the valve as it causes the fuel pressure to run around 100 psi….by pass the valve and the psi runs normal. I feel the return port through the valve is too small and too restrictive. Right now I have the truck running on just the RH tank which doesn’t get me very far down the highway. Nice headers by the way. Sure beats hacking a chunk out of the frame like a lot of people are doing.

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
Larry,
I plan to run and aftermarket Pollack(sp?) switch valve that is rated for 90lbs or so until I convert the truck to the rear Blazer tank like my other projects. I can probably get you the PN if you want it. Are you using the factory Switch valve for the TBI?

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
I'm running single pass. side tank with walbro intank pump.
For the lack of driving long distances, 1 tank will work for me with no complaints.

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
Thanks Captkaos,
I already replaced my fuel tank switch valve with a new Pollak valve pn 14029228 as I thought maybe the spool valve in the old Pollak valve was not moving all the way causing the restriction on the return side. Also, from the info I found on Pollak’s website the highest pressure their valves are rated for is 65 psi. I am curious to know where you got the 90 psi figure and what the A/C Delco or GM part number is for that one. I have a document I pulled off the Pollak website in PDF format if you are interested in it. It has decent wiring diagram to it as well. At this point, pretty much decided to ditch the frame mounted fuel pump and convert the RH tank to a 1987 fuel tank, with a TBI sending unit along with a high pressure EP241 AC Delco in-tank fuel pump. Then use an electric low psi/high volume fuel pump to transfer fuel from the LH tank into the RH tank through the vent port on the sending unit. My truck is an outdoor expedition rig so I absolutely need two fuel tanks and I don’t have room behind the axle for a Blazer tank due to there being a winch mount back there. 14029228

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
Larry, I am going to the beach this Wednesday and the valve is at my brothers shop (90 miles away) I won't be able to get the PN until I get back.
I would be interested in the document, if you can send it to my webmaster at 73-87chevytrucks.com email, and put a reminder for me to get the PN. You got me questioning the rating now... BTW, I was checking around and found what the Bio guys are using... http://www.vegpower.com/order/prodpa...543&startrow=1 It is a HydraForce valve..
