Re: 57 build
I don't recognize the wheels as Z/28's, but I like them! Clean them up or color match them to your finished truck. These are what my '54 will roll on until I can get some 17's:

Re: 57 build
Happy New Years everyone. earlier this week to get the frame welded up and front horns on. my camera isnt working as of now, I need to buy a new one. I did change my back cab mounts as i was not totally happy how small they were. Now I need to get the cab off again, do alittle grinding to clean things up, get the tank installed, and paint the frame. hope to have it done by next week so i canmove on and get the body and floor finished and primed before to long. I decided to go with steel wheels and whitewalls. Also i just talked to a guy this morning about a short fleet box for $300.oo, if my extra parts go the weekend im going to snatch it up. I promise to get pics asap

Re: 57 build
I've always loved the z28 wheels, they were the rallys of 70's, but on a restoration the 17s are probably better.

Re: 57 build
thats a mercedes gazelle body, thats all i have of it, I was thinking of some kind of tube chassis, str8 axel out front, older 235 with goodies, big and little www. but i would need to cut the body down some and add a little bed to the back. its nice i been finding alot of nice parts lately, hoping to go pick up the fleetside bed this coming sunday if it works out. Ill get pics tomorrow, but i tore down the engine today, cleaned the block off real well and started painting it, went with a grey color, will be removing the oil pan, valve cover, and cam covers to replace gaskets and will finish painting it all up,then onto the trans, that will be getting black.

Re: 57 build
i managed to set the m/t back in the frame today, its a good feeling to get to this point. but as life always seems to throw a broken bolt on to ones project
I will at this point reluctently have to pass the project on to some one else to finish it, as the gf feels she needs to move on, and i will be needing the money to keep my place as long as i can on my own. i do want to thank all on the compliments and the encouragement to persue such a project like this. believe me i do like taking an vehicle and resurecting back to life. i will be popping on the board as much as possible to help out everyone where and when possible, again thanx

Sorry to hear that pugs.
Can you just hang onto the truck until the sittuation changes? I've had mine since 92 and this will be the first year I will be able to make steady progress on it. Kim |
