Re: Rat Rod 73-87's

wow never knew my truck was a "rat rod". That term was unheard of when I built it... and personally I take offense to it.

Anyway, the wheels are 17x8 wheel vintiques smoothies with 4 inch back spacing.

Re: Rat Rod 73-87's

The term "Rat Rod" is way over used. Just because a car/truck has primer paint and painted wheels doesn't make it a "Rat Rod". I get the term thrown at my truck all the time and I politely walk away.

Our trucks are too new to fit the Rat Rod definition, at least from my viewpoint. Seriously, if a mid 70's 80's pickup is a Rat Rod because it has red wheels, does that make a red wheeled Toyota Sentra a Rat Rod too?

Re: Rat Rod 73-87's

When I started looking at this I thought I would see a 73-87 RAT ROD. Does anyone have any pictures of a rad chopped cab or different front end "RAT ROD TRUCKS" . After all these pictures it should be changed to "old primer trucks 73-87"
I would love to see inspiring Rat Rod Truck Pictures.

I completely agree. Around here people label their POS's as "ratrod" and then try to sell them for twice what they are actually worth. Most of the trucks I have seen pictured here look nice to me.

Re: Rat Rod 73-87's

I dont think it's possible to have a "Rat Rod" c10! unless you chopped and channeled a cab to fit on some kind of a roadster frame, flat black trucks are not "Rat Rods"!!.......To help me explain....These are "Rat Rods"....

To put the 88-91 suburban front end on a 75, you'll need to swap the hood, fenders, core support, cowl, lights, grilles, bezels, hood hinges and the inner fenders are different, but I don't think enough to need to change them

yes I'll have to add the cowl thats part of cab will need modifying for the hood hinges and the front frame horns for the newer bumper
