Re: TwoFiftyShifter's '64 GMC budget project

That's awesome man, yeah cheap is usually my only option. Let me know when youre ready to ship it and how you want to be paid. Is there anything you might want in return? I might have some parts I'm not using....

Re: TwoFiftyShifter's '64 GMC budget project

I found a workable set from AZ. Just a little rot in the corners, I should have updated this thread more:

You have the deluxe instrument cluster. Look for big truck's of these years when your traveling maybe you can find a tach/ vacuum gauge/ bat-o-meter or better yet Clock! they also came in the standard instument cluster as well. It's clean inside.Nice find.

Re: TwoFiftyShifter's '64 GMC budget project

Haven't updated this thread in ages. Moslty since I haven't worked on the truck in ages. That's over now. Got the bug a week ago, seems to happen when it gets cold out, the heated garage becomes more heavenly than it already was.

Not much in the way of pics. I have the motor painted and mostly assembled and running and I posted a video. Now I need to get the front end sheetmetal on. I have to have a friend do some welding on the firewall area as it has a few holes in the corners on both sides. Then I will mount the radiator, supports and fenders. Have a set of solid doors at the glass shop getting the internals from the rotted doors being put in, figured I didn't want to hang the glass so I'm paying for it.

I'm getting some new shocks and cutting the coils up front for a 2" drop and to give it a little rake. Got a steering wheel puller in the mail so I can pull the wheel off and fix the turn signal. I have decided to not use the stock bench as I feel uncomfortable in any bench seat, and am on the hunt for some buckets.

This weekend I will be sanding and priming the stepside bed too. I am rattle-can paint most the parts to assemble the truck and protect it from rust, since she does some snow duty. I plan on painting it dark blue in the spring, either navy blue its original color or midnight blue which is a little darker. She won't be a show truck, just a solid, reliable daily driver for me. I have about $1300 into her including purchase price now.
