Re: 1967 Chevrolet K20 "The BEAST"

I fill the hole with greese and push the alingment tool or something very close in diameter in there and the greese forces it out, or you could do it the easy way and get a puller, but I like to make a mess!

BTW that Blazer looks like one I've seen here in AZ before?!

Re: 1967 Chevrolet K20 "The BEAST"

Here was my technique... just found a bolt the right size and it pulled it right out with ease...

I have heard of the grease trick as well..

Re: 1967 Chevrolet K20 "The BEAST"

Yeah that aircraft stripper will make light work of paint! I did an Elco a few years back and used that stuff to strip to the bare metal, the WHOLE thing, yeah the laquer based paints didn't fare well in the AZ sun and heat it was cracked and looked like a road map!!

Looking good man keep up the work!

Re: 1967 Chevrolet K20 "The BEAST"

Dan, All I can say is OMG!

It makes me gringe just looking at that cab. I cant believe you fixed that! Makes feel pretty stupid about the dime sized rust hole I found in this 67 cab I have (that I was disapointed about) ...... I wonder what the shipping on a whole Rust free (except for that dime hole) 67 Small window cab would be.. LOL

Just kidding. Man you deffinatly have more balls then me to take that on!

Great work, Keep it up!!

Re: 1967 Chevrolet K20 "The BEAST"

Hey Dan, guess what I tripped over the other day....

A 73 Elky, it was Vato'fied w/13 inch spokes, and was pretty spartan on anything interior, but had a snappy 250 L6/th350 and was fairly straight w/some minor rust in the "trunk thing" interested? Asking $1300, I'd offer up about $6-800 and you'd own it I guess?? I have his phone number but no picts??

LMK??

BTW the cab is coming together, I junked a 67 cab that was near perfect (straight) except she had the Cancer in the cowl vents, althought the floor and rockers seemed OK, yeah I know, I suck!

Next winter if I make a nice snowball, send it to AZ in a cooler.. will you hit yourself in the face with it?

That's what I think of AZ guys trashing "bad" cabs!!!

all kidding aside I need to make a trip and invest in some SW sheetmetal for my next truck.

Re: 1967 Chevrolet K20 "The BEAST"

where did you find that? nice upgrade... I'd finish up the cab that you have and sell it to another NY'er that has a rusty cab. Or bring it down to Carlisle...
