Re: Custom bumpers
All I remember is it took over 7weeks to get it and when mounted to my K5 it mounted too close for my winch too fit without cutting the grill. So I had to modefy the mounting plates. At this same time I rember another K5er that bought one and he bent the winch mounting plate while winching at an angle so that is why I added two gussets to the underside of the winch mounting plate.
Good Luck DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Custom bumpers
Thank's, I think I will need it. We'll see if he answers my last e-mail. He said he would be back on 7-2-09, so that's tomorrow. I guess if he won't do anything, I 'll just do it myself. Yes, I am planning on following your example, and bracing it good, "thank's for all the good pic's" by the way. I figured there would be more KMTN bumpers out there, but so far only yours? Think maybe I'll post up a couple threads on the other forums and see if I get any feedback. Just wanna hear I'm not the only one to get screwed by this guy.

Re: Custom bumpers
Please dont take this like a whooped dog, You still have options and have paid out alot of money on abumper that YOU wanted. He is basicly trying to say No this is what your getting even if you paid for something you wanted.
I would definately file a complaint with the cc company and make him refund you money for the hassle that you are gonna have to go through to make it what you wanted in the first place. If you dont take a stand and MAKE him do the right thing, He will have no consequences and just keep doing it to the next guy and so on

Re: Custom bumpers
So just to clarify, you ordered the "customized stage 2 wincher", with the option's shown, correct?
They say it's modified for that particular customer. (maybe that's where some of the confusion set in) This pic is directly from their web site. I couldn't even find a pic of the one they sent you on their site... At this point, I'm kinda leaning towards bigbad's angle, make the guy provide you with what you ordered. |

Re: Custom bumpers
This is what went down. He say's the prerunner/grill guard he sent me is as one is described on his website. I said I wanted a prerunner/grill guard and he say"s thats what he sent me. I just thought, when I said "THIS BUMPER", that it would look like "THIS BUMPER". I talked to him about "that" white blazer, I just don"t get it! Still have got no response back from my last e-mail to him. He said he would be back today, 7-2-09.

Re: Custom bumpers
It appears that you were very clear and the bumper he sent you was not what you ordered, it's your chioce as to how to proceed but if I were a judge, it'd be a no brainer.

Re: Custom bumpers
Seriously, Just call the cc Company and explain to them you just got the order and it was not what you wanted/ordered. You have tried to work things out with him, but he is not being responsive/telling you too bad that is what you ordered.
As soon as Kyle finds out that he no longer has your money and you still have the bumper, hes gonna want to hurry up and make things right. He is basically commiting fraud by telling you your gonna get one thing, sending another, then telling you to piss up a rope. You are totally in the right and have been wronged and now he is trying to blow you off. I know you are wishing for the best and hoping that Kyle is gonna do the right thing, But if he was going to it would have been done by now. At the very least tell him you want your $170 back for the grille gaurd that you didnt get and he can have the out of place looking tube he welded to the top of your bumper back if he pays the shipping.

Re: Custom bumpers
Well I sat down this morning and sent off 1 more e-mail to Kennesaw Mountain Acc. I figured I'd give him one more chance before I mail the credit card dispute in. I explained the situation fully, and also said that I am willing to work with him in any way to get this prerunner/grill guard to look the way I want it to. I guess we'll see what happens from here! On a different note, I found a couple of brand new KC off road lights I had bought years ago, that will look sweet on this bumper if I can get the grill guard set up right! Just trying to stay positive!

Re: Custom bumpers
WOW, news flash! Just got a e-mail from Kyle saying he is going to work with me. Actually I asked him to bend the two outer tubes the way I wanted them and ship them to me and he replied- yes, I can do that! I sent him a e-mail asking for more details about what he had in mind, so I'll wait and see how he answers me. Maybe things are turning around here? I know this situation was not my fault, but I have to fix it somehow! Hang in there guy's!

Re: Custom bumpers
Well do not offer to pay for ANY material, labor or shipping, you will have to remove the old one and install the new one. It was his screw-up not yours, and you told him exactly what you wanted up front.
Did you tell him you were going to go through your cc company if he didnt resolve this?

Re: Custom bumpers
Might want to mention you just recieved your cc dispute form in the mail today, and if you dont get a tracking# for your replacement tubes being sent out within a week, that you would be more than happy to send it in.
Get a fire going under him, he is just gonna draw this out, Threaten the cc form at first dont worry about being a nice guy, it is clear he is walking on you and now has your money, you have been patient enough just waiting for it to be built.

I e-mailed him right back with a whole bunch of stuff, but I'm getting postage setup on the cc dispute packet! Enough is enough!

Re: Custom bumpers
Gentelmen, please do not buy from KENNESAW MOUNTAIN ACC! I hate to say that, but my experience so far has been a bad one! Even if they make my deal right now, I am not happy! $859.00 in a bumper that I have to cut, bend, reweld, repaint, etc. That is not the way to make CUSTOMERS happy, or attract new customers! When this deal with them is over, I will lead the charge into a full fledge war with this company! Anybody looking to join?

Re: Custom bumpers
Hey neighbor...well kind of...I've been following this thread from the beginning and I would have to agree with bigbadchev that it's time to get a sh!tty. This guy doesn't have a clue what good customer service is all about. If it were me, I would send in the cc dispute forms asap.

Re: Custom bumpers
Yea, I hear ya chev. I just sent off another e-mail to Kyle at KNMTN, saying I was considering sending in the dispute form. I have tried EVERYTHING to resolve this. I have sent 4 e-mails, counting the one this morning, trying to give him a last chance. No matter what happens now I will never deal with KENNESAW MOUNTAIN ACC., ever again. Or will I recommend them to anyone! That's too bad, because they could have got some good pr from me here and everywhere! Now it will be bad pr! Even if Kyle doesen't make it right, I have the bumper, and I will make it look right on my own. But when I get it done, and post up some pic's, you wont hear me say- look at my KENNESAW MOUNTAIN bumper. I'll say something like- look at the bumper I made!

Re: Custom bumpers
I cannot believe you are still 'considering' sending in the dispute. I realize you are trying to help this guy save face, but at this point I don't think that is possible or in your best interest.
You ordered the bumper on the 8th of April. At this time I am sure he took a deposit of some amount. You received an incorrect bumper on the 22nd of June and he took the rest of your money. Now it is the 12th of July, 3 MONTHS since you ordered- almost 1 month since you received the wrong item- and you still do not have the bumper you ordered or a resolution, while he has your money. You are being way to nice and accommodating, and it is obvious e-mails are not going to resolve this issue. Send in the dispute forms today. Good luck. |

Re: Custom bumpers
Forget e-mailing, they're to easy to ignor...call the guy in person and get this crap settled!
Don't mean to flame ya but it's been long enough and at this point your only screwing yourself by going easy on this guy. |
