Re: 67 Frankenstien build
Yeah my roughcountry 4" lift looks like a lot more than 4"s

Re: 67 Frankenstien build
with lift pre-lift Very happy with the 2.5 skyjacker lift. Seems just enough and the 33's don't rub! The back u-bolts seem to wide for the leafs but I'll deal with that later. Last edited by 67gmcstepside; 10-17-2011 at 08:59 AM. |

Re: 67 Frankenstien build
Thanks Tony the best part is no tire rubbing. I need to fix some cowl drainage issue then it's time to install the carpet and finish off the interior. Next will be to replace the old 2 bl with an edelbrock 600 and performer manifold. I am starting to see the end in sight.

Re: 67 Frankenstien build
Well after it's first real test drive I discovered 3rd gear syncro was shot. So out came the tc and the trans. Since I had to pull both I decided to go with a np205 tc this time around. Getting the trans and tc back in solo was a challenge. Dropped the tc cross member an inch and buttoned everything backup. Ordered a new drv shaft from Tom Woods which should arrive today, I hope. I am having the front drv shaft lengthen by mr driveshaft another 3 inches. So I am almost back to where I started 2 months ago. Still need to get an new carb and 4 barrel manifold. Pending tasks
Get exhaust system secured (lmc dual) Cut new holes in high hump Install seat belts Reinstall carpet and seat Install pass mirror Find a stereo and install Convert to cable throttle Scrape up some money for rear bumper and headline trim. Pics to follow once my drv shaft comes Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: 67 Frankenstien build
The lift kit you installed really adds to the look. I don't like tall lifts on trucks, but that's just my prefacence. Your truck is looking great. Are you posting any video when you do the test drive? Pics are good, but video is 100 times better. Keep the updates coming.

Re: 67 Frankenstien build
Thanks chevymaniac, that's a great idea to video the next test drive. Had it out once to find that my trans 3rd gear sycro was shot. Rebuilt the trans and installed a np205 instead of the original 221. Finished the exhaust this weekend and will post an update soon and will video it's next test run.

Re: 67 Frankenstien build
Had some nice weather in NJ so I got a few things done to the truck. Installed the rest of the exhaust from LMC. Fits now that I have the NP205 in instead of the T221.
Finished the insulation: Installed the carpet, seat and seatbelts. Getting close. Need to get emergency brake cabling bought and installed, install the front sway bar from CrazyRay when it arrives and order the correct rear bumper. Still searching ebay for a edelbrook 1405/6 and manifold. Many of them out there but trying to keep under 250 for the pair and dont want to have to rebuild. Glad I had them available for you jensen. The TC's are going to scrape soon so let me know if I should out aside anything else.

Re: 67 Frankenstien build
are your rear springs a multi leaf set or just two springs? i have a 68 k10 i am doing right now too, and i bought the 2.5 skyjacker kit from sumitt with the blocks and now i am haveing second thoughts about buying the rear springs. mine is the just the 2 spring leaf. also swapping out the t221 and 3 speed combo for the sm465 and 205.
