Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!
Its sooo much nicer not having to worry about rubbing taking a corner. I can finally zip through corners. The truck handles so much better then before. Cant wait until I get the other suspension parts on.

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!
Ive been thinking about that, I just wanted them out for the time being. I think I can cut the part out where is was rubbing and make a hump, kind of like the corvettes have in the front fenders. I have a bunch of Ideas just need to come up with the best possible one

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!
Haha, my friend has an 84 and I dont like how the grille continues onto the headlight bezels, thats the only thing I dont like about it. I like the 86-87 due to the body color being on the center section it really is a nice touch..

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!
Absolutely PERFECT!!!!
I wonder how 18"s would be in the front with 20"s in the back? would that solve the Rubbing issue? Last edited by jrcaprai; 07-24-2010 at 01:39 AM. |

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!
It might, but it would be super raked. LoL. To get the profile right on the tire to match the rear it would be really short, the front is 26"s and its already raked about 2" any shorter and I would have to change out the rear tire. And If I wanted a 26" tall tire on the 18 the sidewall would be larger then the rear.

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!
Very Nice!
With the inner fender gone,do you think a 45 or 50 series would fit? I like to do that with mine, but I tow a boat,so don't know if it would work. |

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!
A 40 would work, I think a 45 or 50 would be pushing it. Unless you were to roll your fender lips, other wise with the amount of drop I have, youd be rubbing the fender lip with a 45-50..

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!
That is the perfect stance; I also love how you kept 20s on front and on back.
Sounds like you did this kit without doing anything irreversible, right? Do you have to remove the inner wheel wells up front to make this driveable on 20x8.5s? Beautiful ride...

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!
Thanks, I did in fact remove the inner fenders. Other then that everything can be reversed minus the c-notch out back. It did work with the inner fenders, however I like to go fast around corners and through twisty roads and when the front end would dip down the wheels would hit the fenders. So they had to go.. IF you read back through the posts you will see why I took them out! lol.. basically got bounced into the other lane and after that Ive had them out and couldn't be happier.

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!
I have read from a few different people that you can do up to a 7" drop in the rear with out a c-notch, you just have to remove the bump stop and the bump stop mount. Dont plan on hauling anything though I heard it puts the rear axle about 2-3 inches from the frame..

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!
I cant remember right now but I think the wheels were 260$ front and 290$ rear. I went with a little more expensive tires (Nitto Invo) Alot of people are getting their sets of wheels/tires for around 1800-2100$ Depending on the tires selected. My total after lugs was $2350. Yes the wheels do come in the 5x5 Pattern.
