tearing into more of the motor tonight took the carb off going to rebuild it im getting a full gasket set so i pulled off the exhaust and intake manifold, pulled out the distributor and took off the push rod covers found a nice mess in there!

Looks like you have a bit of cleaning to do

How are you holding you plywood bed in BTW? I can't tell from the picture whether you bolted that in or is it just riding on top of the bed supports?

got all the gasket services cleaned up and the intake and exhaust manifold back on the oil filter, fuel pump, push rod covers, carb rebuild and back on, distributor, plug wires and some other **** I'm sure lol

Yeah Duplicolor is what I bought at the local O'Reilly's as well. I went with Industrial Red and Gloss Black so I guess our engines will have a similiar theme. I sh*t canned the blue/grey idea and went with flashy (like you )I figure it's my truck why can't I just do what I want!

Of course, now it's gonna look like I copied you

LOL we just got the same idea at the same time! glad you went with what you wanted because it is your truck and if anyone has anything to say tell them to piss off lol and ask them where there truck is because they probly dont have one!

the corner of the thermostat housing is broken and a bolt broken off in the head was able to drill and tap it and put a washer on the bolt to hold the broken corner down.

working on getting oil back in it my plug was leaking and well i finely striped it out lol but going to drill and tap it a size up and i need more coolant then it should be ready to start back up!
