I'm in Haslet near Texas Motor Speedway, I like what you did with that strap, always great idea's here, Ive got to get my frame to powder coat, waiting on the weather, I ordered two AC vents and will patch the ash tray area put some holes there sorta like the original air trucks

Yes, you are around the Justin,Tx area. I go to TMS and drive the stock cars once or twice a year at Team Texas Driving School. Next time i am over that way i will give you a shout. Your cab is coming along nicely. I am torn between plugging the original gas filler hole or putting it back as a non-working cap. My new tank will be at the back with the new filler hole. I just like the look of these trucks with that chrome gas cap on the side of the cab.

As far as the straps, they worked perfect! I was able to move it around and get it back in place alot easier than fighting with my floor jack. Of course my floor jack is an antique so the wheels don't roll very good anymore and i am too much of a tightwad to go by a new one, LOL.

Hey CVA, worked on my floors, pulled out rusty drip rail for repair, I go drive at TMS and do the 10 laps, its a blast

I wish i had your motivation, LOL. I am so far behind on my metal repair it ain't even funny. I usually do the 10 or 20 lapper. It is a blast going that fast in a real Cup car.

Zack, let me know when you wanna go run that 20, maybe we will have our trucks done, Im shooting for this summer, here is my block got the crank in, its a 98 4bolt block with the roller cam boss's, I had some vortec heads built, plus a pic of the RPM air gap going on top

I will be needing both outer rockers, inner rockers, lower front post and the inside lower kick panels, LOL. Basically i have to replace everything that towersddg9 is replacing.

Can't wait to see the valve covers. Not really much happening on my truck. My money tree died last week so things will be slow for me for a while. The fact that my wife and I may be facing the "D" word in the near future will really slow up my progress of not come to a total stop. Not sure what the final word is gonna be on that though.

Thanks Fab. I feel it has been a long time coming and that long time is now here i am afraid. Either way, I will keep plugging away on my truck and i hope to have some more pics up real soon of the new shop dad and I put up. We will have both our trucks in there and can build them together.

I am with you on replacing sheet metal....atleast your in a place things aren't supposed to rust. Out where I am out on the west coast between the rain the salt sometimes all that's left is a emblem....

Zack, hope your doing good, wanted to post a couple picks of some powder coating i picked up this morning, had trailing arms, panhard bar, center link, the two under hood supports, lower rear shock supports, the cross bed supports, and both backing plates for the rear drum $133 bucks! this included sandblasting

I actually made some progress today. My dad bought a 66 BBW SWB shortly after i bought my 64. He also bought new rockers in/out. I picked up a mint pair for doors, front fenders and hood for his 66. He was gonna use all this to build his truck with. Well, today while he and i worked on my truck some, we were talking about his build. He has lost interest in his 66 mainly because he is at the age where starting a complete build is just too much for him. So, he is looking for a Model A pickup, something he can put-put around town and that doesn't require a complete resto. So, as a result he gave me the extra doors, fenders, hood and patch panels. Having said that, i am now another 1000 miles ahead on my build. That saves me a ton of work and money. He will be selling his 66 soon. It has factory power steering and factory auto column. No motor or trans but overall it is a nice truck. I feel much better now having all these near mint parts. Hopefully this will inspire me enough to get off my lazy rear and get something done now, LOL.

Well, I took 1 full coil off my front springs. Although it is only the rolling frame with the engine i did not notice too much of a change in the drop. I am hoping once the truck is fully assembled i will then see the full effect of the drop. It went from being slightly higher in the front to now sitting level. I hate to cut more than 1 coil off, i understand that is probably not a good idea. Oh well, guess i'll just have to wait and see how it all comes out when i get the cab, doors and front clip back on it.
