I had a GMC cab (a 69 I think) and it had chrome trim around the windows attached to the doors. Not the lower fuzzies but across the top and around the curve down to the area near the handle.
If some one has a pic of this option please post. My 71 1/2 ton was ordered with powerglide transmission. (Last year available) I have seen supposedly factory option (maybe dealer added) Compass Have Fun

My mistake...it had a list price of $6.50 cents too.
I'll correct myself with Gee Emm... MOST the ones you just mentioned were dealer installed |

I do not have any pictures yet i still need to load my camera drivers on my laptop. The ignition is in the dash on the right side. I still have the choke hooked up in the original place along with headlights and window wiper switch. The only thing I do not have is the throttle control but I do not see this on the options list. I know it is not a truck but my 84 monte carlo ss has a dealer installed tape case on the passenger side.

Gee Emm do you have a picture of the lighted cigar lighter??? My 72 sierra Grande had one, but had thought it was aftermarket. Long gone now, but it would be interesting to see.

Last time the whole lighted lighter was up for discussion I posted a picture of it from my custom accesories brochure, I checked that post and the pictures are gone from it but the rest of the post is there.
Andy has a page from his owners manual that showed it so he might have a picture of it, I will try to find the picture I had and if I can't find it I will have to rescan it. |

When I got my truck, it had 200 or so feet (no kidding) of extra wire cleverly routed under the hood, dash, carpet & bed. I can only assume that this was part of the incredibly rare "future CD player/amp/big speaker/radar detector/trailer brake light/wal-mart tach" wiring option, with special dealer installed light up toggle switches.
It also served as a driver entertainment system, since sometimes the bare wires made pretty sparks. I can tell that it's all stock by the way that most of it was put together with duct tape and wire nuts. It was never put on the option sticker since it was so rare that Chevy would have lost money on tooling up for the printing for only a few trucks. My truck also came with 3 bridgestone tires and one goodyear. I think that this was part of the nascar option that allowed for better cornering when turning left.

I guess my trukc is really rare then, I have the leaf spring rear on a half ton, glovebox light, locking glovebox, turbo 400 with small hump cab, power steering cooler, and I still have the original cab corners and rockers with 0 rust

Actually, this is the one he sent me. I can't find the scanning out of my manual.
A retired member and I got into a few heated discussions about this, he said it was stock, and I had never seen one. (this was before I had the manual showing it) Once I took apart the lighter on the one ton...I discovered it had it in there. Go figure |

My 72 gmc has leaf spring rear, it also has a bundle of shingles and kitchen sink in the bed. I think those are the rarest options.

I guess they are rare in that very few survive. My 68 has the original one. I'm not sure but vehicles equipped for sale in California may have had more smog controls.
