Re: Poll - Age of 60-66 Truck Owners
I am part of the 17 percentile...57 here, and like someone else stated my wife also keeps asking when I will grow up. The differance between men and boys is the price of the toys.

Re: Poll - Age of 60-66 Truck Owners
Ok, I'm now 55, but I've owned a 60-66 chevy truck of some sort since I was 15. I did just go thru a 14 year dry spell though.

Re: Poll - Age of 60-66 Truck Owners
I am a year older than my 66 C10, learned to drive in a 66 stepside on the local back roads at the age of 10. Good old days can't do that any more, So my truck keeps me young in my mind anyway!

I'm 46 but after 20+ years on graveyard shift I feel like I'm 80.

Re: Poll - Age of 60-66 Truck Owners
I'm late getting into C10's compared to my VW's. The first C10 I bought was a '66 parts truck when I was 23, and I bought Goldilocks last year when I was 24.
By comparison I bought my first project VW at age 8 with money I'd saved up from chores/birthdays/christmas money. I owned a couple more VW's to flip before I was old enough to get my license. I'm still having fun with VW's but C10's have grown on me in my old age.

Re: Poll - Age of 60-66 Truck Owners
Born in 1950, one of my first real jobs, at 16, was working in the local small-town Chevy dealership, pumping gas, lubing and cleaning cars, moving them around the yard. It was late 1966, the new 67 trucks and cars were showing up, and they were clearing out the last leftover 66's. I remember the last new pickup to go, a red and white '66 C-10 Custom Trim pickup with the side trim, 283 and 3 on the tree. One of many cars that passed through that dealer's that I fell completely in love with. A friend of mine's dad bought that truck, so I saw it for years to come.
These trucks were just everywhere. I've probably owned 8 or 10 of them, total. Unforunately, here in the north, they just about disappeared after about 1980 or so, due to the rust problems. Many of the nice ones in this part of the country today, did not spend their lives here. |

Re: Poll - Age of 60-66 Truck Owners
Just turned 34 last week. But I have been around cars and mechanical stuff since I could walk. When ever the cars broke down my dad and grandpa had me right there helping them fix it. I was brought up the right way. I am teaching the same thing to my two boys. They are 6 and 4 and love to do everything with me in the garage. I hope they appreciate it as much as I do now.

Re: Poll - Age of 60-66 Truck Owners
Bout to hit 30, picked up my 63 when I got out of the service.. Guess I got out at the right time cause it was the first thing I bought.. Think if I re-enlisted, I would have missed the chance at buying my truck.. Oh and getting married..

Re: Poll - Age of 60-66 Truck Owners
Since George Washington didn't lie, guess I'd better not either. So, chalk one up for a 68 year-older.

Re: Poll - Age of 60-66 Truck Owners
I'm 41 - been a motorhead as far back as I can remember. I've had an active subscription to Car Craft and Hot Rod magazines since 1978. I had every one of them up until flooding from a hurricane wiped out the collection in 1999. Now my collection only goes back to that point.
